- Belle Epoque Paris (aka the "real" world in the game) setting

- Depressed bisexual widowed engineer Gustave who is slowly realizing that not only is he falling in love again after the death of his beloved wife, but it's with his ride-or-die best friend. (Yes, I am also inspired by Francesca Bridgerton's romance arc in both the books and her hopefully upcoming tv season, in case you were wondering.)

- Ride-or-die best friend Verso Dessendre who is all but officially living with Gustave to keep that depressed nerd from doing something stupid. He doesn't quite realize he's gay, but he's at least aware that straight men usually don't have frequent X-rated dreams about their male friends.

- Literally everyone who has known them for more than two seconds going "Oh my God, these bitches gay," but not saying anything for obvious reasons.

- Sciel and Lune, already in a "history would call them good friends" relationship, not so subtly pushing them onto what is functionally double dates.

- Alicia and Clea actually teaming up to annoy the snot out of their brother to get him to admit their feelings.
