lmao i had a customer being normal all transaction until the end i said goodbye have a good day he didnt say goodbye instead he leaned in to say Tell your husband i want you. i said Okay will do! LOL nutjob and then i saw another dude from the scrapyard. tuesday i saw a dude from the scrapyard actually i had already seen him at my window the first time i was like your name is alejandro right? he was always so nice and respectful at the scrapyard which is rare for the scrapyard he didnt get me on tuesday but he snuck in while i was with my customer to say hi good to see you! oh and a coworker from the back office said ‘prop’ of nothing, erin youre so quiet. i was like what? me quiet? im not quiet i thought. i went out and said nay am i quiet? she said no youre not quiet. im not quiet at all but when im in the back office theres like six people always in there not saying a word ever. out front we’re doing customer service we’re joking with each other and regulars we’re yapping you know i go back there and its dead silence. so i get a lil shy back there idk

went for a dental cleaning couple of weeks ago the hygienist called the doctor in i was like ooooh somethings wrong with my mouth the last time they missed a buccal cavity. but it was a new doc she said dr lee is gone im the new doctor. swag i didnt like dr lee i didnt think she was good at it. cause she always started drilling after one shot of analgesic and i always felt it. four times by the fourth time i would like Needs Two Shots in my chart. got my filling today the new doc numbed me up to the eyeball… i didnt say anything i was like lets see how it goes she gave me one shot then poked my gums do you feel me poking yes i do then she did another i was gonna switch practices once my xray benefit came back around but i like her i dont like feeling the drill

love saying a mí no me importa whenever a customer says sorry no english i got to say it two times today. when i finished helping the second guy i said que le vaya bien he turned around and leaned in close to say en mi país decimos te quiero mucho. no they dont. en su país te llama ligón though

my older coworker was cackling at my smart mouth telling my trainee about the first time i demonstrated that ive got it we dont remember the customer but he was acting up with me and up til then i guess i seemed sweet to the point of meekness. but im sweet by choice not by nature so when that first guy was misbehaving she was ready to jump in but i handled it i guess. she was reminded of that cause a customer was acting up today and kept saying, im confused…im getting upset!!! repeatedly even after i explained things very clearly. well its hot out youre experiencing confusion and agitation huh. so i told him we have some water over there why dont you grab some water okay? he did say i dont need water! actually sir you do for real. im being a little smart by implying your emotional landscape right now is cause youre hot. but also i believe its partly because youre hot. if you wanna insist youre stupid and angry all the time well okay but i believe that man needed some water. my coworker thought that was SO funny that i offered him water. it is my style in customer service to be mouthy to misbehaving customers by being nice but he really needed that water and he didnt even get any

looking forward to seeing mike who one year ago this month asked my name, told me he comes in once a year every july, and promised he would remember my name because he’s very good with names. BIG DEAL MIKE! i do that as well. graham’s boss from ten years ago came in i was like hey eddie right? i was grahams roommate you came to our house once. grahams sisters boss came in once… all the scrapyard guys… a local newspaper writer came in today i left him alone about it i dont remember anything hes written. a local photographer came in today also i didnt leave him alone about it cause i sincerely know and enjoy his work he seemed so stoked to be recognized. my coworkers are always saying “since you like knowing peoples names so much” what do you mean its not like a hobby i just have a cavernous memory theres plenty of room for all sorts of things

man when i have a customer at my window and we’re doing spanish im usually 😵‍💫 but when a coworker has a customer speaking spanish and needs me its great. cause we have to shout. two times today the most beautiful clear spanish that i understood all of cause shouting to be heard at a distance and through a window i think automatically you pause longer between words and enunciate more. and my coworkers are like 🤩 spanish erin wowwww. nay and may took high school spanish and remember very little but they got far enough we were playing in spanish a little bit a month ago i should offer to practice spanish with them so they pick up or recall more of the more salient words sometimes they call me over and its literally just to say firma aqui por favor because miming wasnt working but they could say that themselves so easy if we practiced
