Things My Daughter Taught Me She taught me courage and resiliency 
Are not always a decision; 
But a necessity. That small does not equate to weak; 
When we ventured into the world, 
[8] pounds never looked so big. She taught me patience; 
You cannot rush that which needs to grow. She taught me courage to move ahead, 
That sometimes life will pick you up off your feet, 
But you still have to hit the ground running. To take life one breath at a time. 
Even when I don’t feel ready; 
Just breathe. That the world may not be ready for you, 
But you can’t wait for the world. 
Do not come to the world quietly; 
Come in kicking and screaming,
