I was listening to NPR when I first heard of Mazzy Star and heard their sound. Although listening to them, I immediately thought of the Duke Spirit, Beach House, The XX and a few other modern bands/singers. The difference is that Mazzy Star hasn't put out an album in 17 years .  Seasons of Your Day   will be released on September 24th. Hope Sandoval is the voice of the band and the female voice that you fall in love with. The music has so many different sounds all in one, its like drinking that suicide Slurpee, it tastes amazing together but there are so many flavors in the same cup.  You can hear the acoustic guitar, but some songs have a bit of an electric sound in them, you also hear the folk in some songs with some harmonica, but even then there is some pop in there too!
