QOTW 2
The journey an artist takes is good for the artist themselves. It helps them internally to venture out and be creative and try new things. The journey helps one find new way of thinking, which can help give new ideas for pieces!

QOTW 1
The role of the artist is to portray his/her own thoughts in their pieces. Making art is creatively expressing your thoughts and feelings, no matter how serious or light, or happy or sad they are feeling. As in artist you have the power to portray a message to anyone and everyone, so use is appropriately and feel free to express yourself. Do not be afraid to go out of your shell when it comes to creation!
Color chance!
I turned these in for a finals assignment. I have never turned in this type of coloring in a photo before. I loved doing this! I would do it again. This type of coloring emphasizes your main subject. Going forward I would consider doing the opposite, where I keep everything colored and only make my subject black and white

question of the week, week 13
art is important because it allows a person to express themself. But not just to express themselves, but to express their own view to others. this way we share ideas and help each other gain new perspectives. for me, seeing other peoples art gives me new ideas on what to take pictures of. I also like to see peoples different presentations of their art. this tells me how the artist sees their own art.
question of the week, week 12
I think each category of art (pairing, drawing, photography etc.) has its own uniqueness to their pieces. there could be some type of meaning to the structure of each category. if you take a picture of something, you have to set up the shot and strategically place everything. there is order, which could mean you view that subject matter as ordered. If you paint something, it could mean you feel more freely about this subject matter.
Pic 1) my fence in my backyard... boring. But, there are different shades of brown/maroon in them
Pic 2) these are valentines sock! Rich pink and red in them. Just different shades
Pic 3) a black and white photo I took, showing different the different shades of a greyscale

Question of the week, week 11
I would say unity is a necessity, mostly. An artist should have some type of unity within their process of making a piece. This way they accurately and meaningfuly create something. They’d also feel more comfortable creating in their way or process. I see more Unity/harmony within the physical process of doing stuff, no so much the art it self.
Question of the week, week 9
I’ve seen art play a huge role in church. In a literal sense, there are paintings of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in churches. Especially catholic and orthodox ones. There have also been art portraying the resurrection of Christ, which have been used to physically show Christianity.
Art has also played a huge role in society, definitely. There are galleries, pictures, and video all over the world. These are used to simply show interpretations, or to show a deeper meaning an artist has about a big issue.
Pic 1) another sunset! This ones in Davenport, light blue and yellow colors in the sky
Pic 2) a photo from a concert with blue and purple colors from the stage lights
Pic 3) a yellow dress from a friend, a golden yellow
Pic 1) a photo I used for my first studio project. Most interesting color for me is the color within the pages of the book (second color from left) it’s like a cream/off white combo
Pic 2) this photo is one i took of highway 65 during the sunset

Chromophobia
On page 4, the author speaks about different ways to fall. This section was the most interesting to me because the author says “head first, feet first; like a leaf or a stone; on a banana skin or off a log; in a blaze of glory or in the darkness of despair.”
This alone spoke to me because many of us are afraid to fail. We’re scared of failing or being embarassed, especially if we fall headfirst or heavy like a stone. In today’s world, failing or failure is viewed as less than. But failing is where we learn how to grow and become better at what we’re doing. Whether we fall hard or make a minor screw up, we’re afraid of doing so, but can learn so much from it. especially as artists.
Failing in art may look like getting bad reviews or hearing people speak down about your work. Even though these are other peoples opinions about your perspective, we can still learn from it. We can learn by listening to what people are saying and trying to understand other peoples views. We should embrace other peoples opinions and take that into consideration under our own viewpoints.
