HELP A QUEER TRANS COUPLE OF COLOR FUND SECURE HOUSING!!!!!
Hello everyone!!! My partner (@800-dick-pics) and I (honeybearbutch)are a lesbian couple of color looking to finally establish safe stable and secure housing
My partner has faced unstable housing, cyclical homelessness and poverty their entire life, while in my case my abusive far right leaning (homophobic, transphobic, anti black) family has made my living situation mentally/emotionally unbearable and physically unsafe for years
We are currently weighing our options for apartments, sending emails, making supply lists and calculating costs. We are hoping to find a suitable place and have things organized and situated by August as this is urgent for both our mental health and overall safety
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were on track to finding much cheaper housing in my home state, but due to my family exposing their true far right leaning values in wake of the protests happening across the country against police brutality and violence and thus exposing their true feelings of our relationship it has caused a huge rift between us and I've barely spoken to them in the past 2 weeks, fearing for my safety.
As such it is imperative that I flee the state to be with my partner as soon as possible so that we can be safe and my family would not have an easy way to reach me and we can have a stable environment to grow our lives together and flourish and I can live free as a trans woman of color in a healthier more accepting environment around peers of the same mind
Over the years since I have grown into both my sexuality and gender identity, I have both directly and indirectly faced homophobic and transphobic violence; whether it be my brother pinning me to a wall by my neck and forcing me to remove freshly painted nails the second I came home, or sitting there in agony as my entire family ridiculed a trans womans deep voice, my family has repeatedly proven their bigotry and that living here will never be a safe environment for me no matter how hard I try.
And albeit I currently have physical safety in the form of shelter and food, it is without a doubt conditional and I have just been delaying the inevitable for years by forcing myself to stay hidden at all costs, wearing down on my mental state to the point of desperation.
Both my partner and I were put out of work due to COVID, as such we presently have limited savings and no income to facilitate our move and are desperately seeking any form of help as we can no longer keep enduring our current respective living environments, mine for the continued abuse and my partner for their health concerns due to being immunocompromised as no one in the house they're currently living in is practicing safe social distancing and general covid guidelines.
For our immediate needs to facilitate travel and lodging expenses, we have calculated that at least $2900 would be required to cover the cost of my plane ticket, airbnb required to self isolate for 2 weeks and the food I would need to eat in that time.
