What is the MCYT Fandom Movie Night Event?

Good question!

This will be a collection of fanfiction, podfiction, and art, all in one event (possibly including animation). Similar to a big bang, but not quite. Fanfic writers will write one piece of fiction, prose of their choosing in one of the fandoms that mods will mod for, podfic peeps will read the fanfic out loud, and artists will create one piece of art for the thumbnail of the podfic video. If we get enough animators in the event, should it go forward past this interest check, animations will be done with 1 second of animation per animator at 5 fps.

Starting the 1 and lasting the whole month, August is going to be a month dedicated to the creation out of love for those (doomed) free gays!

Art, writing, music, playlists, crafts and literally whatever you will want and be able to come up with, ALL and ANY creations is welcome this August!

Both sfw and nsfw (REMEMBER TO TAG IT APPROPRIATELY, INCLUDING TAGS LIKE #legsdni) is allowed! This month is dedicated to trustbites and their fandom, so go wild!

Hello wonderful people! I am announcing the MCYT Women Exchange, a fic/art exchange focused on creating fanworks focusing on the wonderful women creators of MCYT and by extension, their characters.

This is an all ages exchange with an optional 18+ opt in. Minimum is a fic of 1,000 words or an art piece with clean linework on unlined paper (or digital equivalent).

This exchange will allow works focused on both creators and characters (or both if you wanna get a little funky with it!), including solo, relationships classified as f/f(/f etc.), and friendships classified as f&f(&f etc.). Any other characters/relationships are welcome to be included as long as the primary focus is the women!

Nominations of nonbinary creators and their characters will be looked at on a case by case basis with discussion open for the community to provide context. While some nonbinary people may use woman as one word to describe themselves, others may not.

Since the idea of this exchange is rooted in bringing the women of MCYT behind our favorite characters into the spotlight for a change, I ask you to please consider irl creator identities rather than headcanons when nominating, and just use your best judgment! You can send an ask/submission to this blog, or comment on the Dreamwidth nomination guidelines to provide info about a nomination.

As the old adage goes "If buying isn't owning then piracy isn't stealing." Pirate things. Make physical copies of them. Multiple copies. Share them with friends.

Yes this is in fact deeply illegal and can get people in a lot of trouble. Ask me if I care when the consequence is corporations owning everything you can use to entertain yourself and they can censor or destroy things you spent your hard earned money on at their whim.
