Topic: Giving Henry some happiness. That’s it. Making Henry happy somehow. (Note:  Even though this event is called “Hug Henry Morgan Day,” he doesn’t have to be hugged in the work.)

Genre: can be anything - drama, angst, h/c, shippy, crack, whatever you like. It’s all good.

Length:  Minimum length is only 500 words.  Anything over that is great, of course!

Art: Needs to be complete. Digital, traditional…anything!

How Posting Works:  A few works will be revealed over the course of the day on April 7, along with Tumblr posts featuring the works.

If ABC does decide to take it back, which at this point they might consider it since two shows flopped, I just hope they give it more advertisement and actually get the word out.

The general gist is that someone sends in a script, and they either like or don’t like it. If they like it, they put it on, most of the time. However, sometimes, channels come up with their own shows. Case in point: Castle on ABC. ABC owns it, all of it, so they get all the profits. And since it does so well, that’s even more money.

Now, a show such as Forever comes rolling around. It’s partially owned by ABC, and the rest of the profits go to what I assume is Matt’s company, Good Session. With the combination of ABC getting 50% of profits, the dreaded timeslot, and the set number of viewers, ABC axed it. They would have axed Castle–it has the lowest ratings it ever had at the end of season 7, but they couldn’t afford to axe it, since they get 100% profits. Forever had its chance, but in the end, ABC couldn’t afford to cut Castle, since it was their flagship franchise.

At the time that Forever got cancelled, ABC, and to a lesser extent CBS and NBC, decided that they could make more money by broadcasting only in-house productions. Anything they didn’t own, or at least didn’t own a stake in like Disney/Marvel with ABC, and that wasn’t making major profits like Big Bang, was cancelled, even if it was doing better than their own productions. This is why I cheer each and every time something in the Tues 10/9c time slot bombs, because I’ve got to believe that they’re spending more money on those things, especially on Of Kings & Prophets which had to be pulled from the fall lineup and retooled.

Henry told Jo his secret. She freaked out and finally got herself a passport. Ran off to Africa, where she threw herself into some participant observation kind of shit, which inspired her to get a degree in anthropology (with a minor in linguistics - obviously) - and because she’s super smart she did it in record time while in Johannesburg. She makes her way to Thailand. Meets up with an old flame, from her old life- and old job - before joining the NYPD. Awkwardly, he’s Sean’s older brother. Oh, Jo Clara Martinez (Seger is her mother’s maiden name - of course - which she used to go by, before she forgave her father and accepted the name in her birth certificate as her own).

Alana simply can’t shake the young widow archetype for very long.
