Final postcard design.

These postcards would be printed onto a heavy card with a matt print. The card would be recycled and eco friendly inks would be used.

The idea is that the white lines on the circles would be scored so would easily pop out of the postcard.

The top image is the front of the leaflet, and the second image would be the back of the same postcard.

The postcards also act as a discount coupon to enter FC land, this would encourage students to visit FC locations. Most coupons you have to cut out are rectangular but by making this coupon circular students are less likely to loose it as it sticks out more.

An idea for an advertising campaign using simple words and the font provided by the Forestry commision

Experimentations with the forestry commission poster.

Offering promotions for students would encourage a younger audience to Forestry Commission sites.

I've created a collage style image using vintage illustrations of birds holding bunting welcoming people the forest.

Adding a quirky "hand made" "DiY" style.

Vivid flowers and images. Rainy cities. Bringing nature into the city.

Nature in the city. Escape from urban, explore nature.

This is an idea for advertising in bus stops around towns and cities.

I decided to create a selection of Postcards using images from the forest.

The postcards them selves are not aimed at specific age groups. instead they are supposed to show the beauty of local nature which should hopefully appeal to all!

The idea is these post cards would be posted to people, given out for free at local locations within cities and towns.

The images will hopefully leave the audience feeling curious about nature and wanting to explore their local Forestry Commission location.

I've created images using 3 photos each, I was trying to create an image which represented the journey through a forrest, tryign to recreate the experience of walking through a forrest.

I would like to try and create this in 3D possibly in book form, by printing the images onto tracing paper and layering them on top of each other.

I went on a visit to my local Forestry Commission site (which is Delamere Forest) I picked up some branches on my walk, I decided to get the electric saw out on my return home to make some sort of token/badges out of the branch.

Escape the rush and routine to a place of freedom and space where friends and families can come together and spend precious time in beautiful forest settings...

The advert for Center Parcs.

Although centre parcs is a holiday resort, it sells "the outdoorsy" life similar to that of which the forestry commission is aiming to advertise. Centre Parcs is obviously advertising for families and the forestry commission is hoping to aim at young adults for its target audience.

Here are a few experiments I did for a poster, The "final" design has the forestry comission logo in the top left corner as mentioned in the brand guide outlines.

Research into an advertising campaign by the national trust.

When I was thinking about the forestry comission I started to think about who their rivals would be, one of the main competitors I could think of was the national trust.

This campaign goes against what people usually expect when visiting national trust sights and also incorporates a hash tag so people can integrate social media into their visits.

What to do...

So the forestry commission would like to attract a younger audience.

I'm going to experiment by creating a collection of posters that have a modern artistic vibe instead of blatant advertising.

I'm going to take inspiration from clubbing culture and create posters in a similar fashion

There are a number of annual awards by YCN. Each year YCN offer a range of projects linked to commercial clients. The briefs from the past year can be found at:-
