My career took an upward turn when I was 29 or 30, and I was delighted that it didn’t happen when I was 20. I just don’t know how I would have handled myself. I was never lost in my twenties, but I was mucking around and had a lot of fun - but if it had all come too soon… You’re just far more in control of yourself in your thirties.

Why did you accept ‘50 Shades of Grey ‘and what has been the result of that decision? Now it is better known, but is not a new straitjacket from which escape? — Yes and no. I do not care what is perceived me, beyond what they think my friends and family. And I would say I like challenges. the rest of my career may be defined by that character, but it just means I’ll have to fight a little harder to break that. Participate in a franchise with many followers is a huge opportunity, regardless of fear that sometimes can give and perception we have of it. It’s all about finding a balance.
