pairing cole cash x gn! reader

“You know, I really hate your mask. You should invest in like, one of those ones Nightwing has.”

You can’t see his face, but you’re pretty sure Cole’s glaring at you from behind that horrid rag he insists on wearing.

“Like who?”

“I know you know who Nightwing is Cole,” you deadpan, before a wicked grin crosses your face, “though I understand if you think you can’t pull it off like he does, I mean the man’s so pretty it’s practically criminal.”

“What?!” He squawked, full attention now on you.

Still grinning, you roll your eyes playfully, “Nightwing’s objectively pretty, I don’t make the rules.”

“He won't be so pretty when I blow his brains out,” Cole grumbles petulantly, kicking at the dirt like a child in the midst of a tantrum.

“What was that? Mr. Superman’s the most attractive dude you’ve ever seen.”

“Am I wrong? Look me in the eye and tell me I'm wrong.” He scoffs defensively, and you raise a brow.

“You... want me to tell you how hot I think Superman is?” A pause.

“We’re getting off track. What's wrong with my mask?” Smooth.

“Well, it means I can’t do this.” You flip the flimsy piece of material obscuring his face over his hair like a veil, silencing his protests when you lean in and press a gentle kiss against the tip of his nose.

He blinks rapidly in surprise, and you let out a giggle at his stunned face. Cute had never been a word you'd really associated with your partner, but right now, cheeks a little pink and the hint of a smile at the corner of his lips, Cole is downright adorable.

“Hmm, I may be persuaded to make a change.” His attempt to remain nonchalant is thwarted by the dopey, lovesick grin on his face, but you decide not to tease him much more... yet.

“Yeah?” You breathe, lips barely brushing against his.

“Mm, yeah, why don't you show me again?”
