In light of the new Out of Sight chapter, I've embarked on a reread for the chapters that I missed, and uh, I have a favourite...

This is a very hard question to answer even though Inazuma doesn't have nearly as much girls as it has boys. HOWEVER, ALL OF THEM ARE SO FRICKING GREAT CHARACTERS. I love all of them.

I have a soft spot for three though:

A really obvious answer, I mean, she's the character who reps me in Storm. A FUN FACT though is that I actually didn't like her that much growing up, but I find her such a refreshing character to have around now. She's so girl boss. And I love her suit most of all.

Another popular answer. We love the Knak. I thought it was weird how a character introduced halfway through Chrono Stone ended up on Best Eleven (because I saw spoilers for it before meeting her for the first time) but I totally get why people voted her in. Me personally, she's 1- cute 2- selfless 3- so lovely. I don't think anyone can resist the mochi.

And, I will always die on this hill, Aoi. Inazuma Eleven GO is my favourite compared to OG, but one grave mistake it makes is not giving the managers *actual* plot, character arcs, depth. I disliked how Aoi was reduced to following Tenma around (I swear, 90% of her dialogue I'm pretty sure has the word 'Tenma' in it), and even though I really like their ship, I think she was robbed! She was definitely treated better than the other two, though. (At least we have fanfiction to correct that.)

But my favourite thing about her has to be her lovely personality, her kind and caring attitude, her endless support for Tenma, and not to forget her hairstyle change which I think distinguished her character design and made her look more unique (hence why I chose her Galaxy design). Her other one looks great too, but I think her haircut is one of the best character hairstyle changes in IE (at least better than Norika).

OOOOO Touko, Kinako, and Aoi!! Great picks 🥹🐐! Touko was of course expected and for good reason. She's so chill and authentically herself and so fiercely dedicated SHE'S GREAT. And Kinako!! Her entire story is one of the most emotional in IE imo. Travelling back in time to befriend and protect your future son and spreading joy and whimsy wherever you go. Oh Nanobana Kinako the girl you are 🥹. Something I really like about these two is their deeply emotional relationships with their respective family members (Zaizen and Fei). It's so great to see characters, especially female characters, with a focus on platonic and familial relationships over romance.

AOI LOVE!! You're so right about the managers, I wish they had their own arcs 😔. They had such compelling personalities and then it just went nowhere </3 And YES HER GALAXY HAIRCUT IS SO CUTE!!!

And I AM planning on writing something to give the managers justice, just… please wait a little longer…

HEADCANONS HMMMMM I never write them down so it's hard to remember of the top of my head 🤔

If we're talking my all time favourite hc it has to be that Atsuya doesn't completely disappear after season 2. I think he's still in there and he and Shirou are learning to co-exist in a way that works for them, and that's why Fubuki is so quiet and passive in season 3. He can't agonise over Kudou's latest cryptic puzzle for the week, he's got other things on his mind man.

But that's a pretty popular one so here are some others.

Headcanon number one is that Taiyou met Gouenji through Make a Wish. I have a WIP for this somewhere that I haven't touched in ages gulp......I think Taiyou's wish was to meet Gouenji Shuuya, which wasn't quite possible because he had already disappeared from public eye to infiltrate Fifth Sector. Luckily for Taiyou, his nurse is Kudou Fuyuka and she is one determined woman when it comes to caring for her patients. She essentially drags Gouenji out of hiding and convinces him to meet Taiyou 'just this one time!' Gouenji reluctantly agrees but uh oh this kid reminds him of Ichinose and himself to a degree. And now he's attached. Hah, loser.

HEADCANON NUMBER TWO is that Meia is Hiroto's descendant! I'm still a bit on the fence about this one but I think it would be real funny for terrorism to run in her blood...as opposed to Saru who is very much nurture over nature in terms of how he turned out 😭. Also, they're both incredibly tech intelligent and have swoopy parts in their hair! Their eyes are also a little similar :D

(And most importantly, they're two of my favourite characters mwahahaha)

Headcanon number 3!! I think Tsurugi was unable to sleep well for a few weeks after betraying Fifth Sector out of fear that they were going to break into his house and kidnap him at night. His parents probably work out of town and Yuuichi's in the hospital so that 13 year old is home alone every night knowing the football government is out to get him. Terrifying. He isn't all that surprised when Kaiou attempt to kidnap him in the games, so I think he expected to be punished at some point. But well, you can never be fully okay with being kidnapped, so he's very on edge for a long time. Maybe his teammates notice, maybe they don't. Maybe he stays mostly functional despite being unable to sleep, maybe he collapses one day in the middle of practice....THE POSSIBILITIES.

I love these so much! The Fubuki one is so cool and I can’t believe I haven’t heard of it till now. It would be such an interesting dynamic to see 👀 two personalities living in one body 👀 they try to work something out 👀 we love this trope *happy storm noises*

HC 1 is 🥺🥺🥺 awww 🥺🥺🥺 do touch that WIP before i whip you because it would be cool to read some of your writing

HC2 is the typa crossover connection you make to make sure your favourite characters are connected in some way and honestly that’s so real. I love these headcanons in IE fandom that try to guess which character is descended from who based on the SSC. And Meia does have that Hiroto look in her eyes and the terrorism runs in her blood mmm crunchy

HC3 is genuinely terrifying what 😭 like what 😭 why do you torture this guy 😭 why would yu do that 😭

IT IS RIGHT? It would be nice to see them co-exist healthily now that they've broken through the 'be perfect' mindset. Atsuya also predominantly shows up on the field throughout season 2, so I feel like he doesn't have much of a personality outside of football. It would be cool to see him do regular things like go shopping or hang out with friends as he learns more about who he is. HAPPY STORM NOISES :D

These flowers are sometimes referred to as 'Moonflowers' or 'Queen of The Night' because they only bloom in the dark. They're very short-lived, lasting less than 24 hours. Once they wilt, the popular Dragon Fruit we're familiar with begins to grow at the base.

Hakuryuu blossomed into the 'Ultimate Player' under Fifth Sector's guidance -- i.e. in the darkness. He was just as brilliant as a 'Queen of The Night', ruling the depths of God Eden. But just like these brilliant flowers, which wilt so soon after blooming, Hakuryuu's reign as the ultimate player came to an end when Project Zero was suspended following their tie against Raimon.

But the story doesn't end there.

At the end of the Gryphon movie, Hakuryuu tells Tsurugi that he is going to start from the basics again. No longer the flower of God Eden, but just a regular player.

And when we see him again in Galaxy, he's grown into a powerful captain and team player, just like this beautiful flower grows into the fierce looking Dragon Fruit.
