Official Tumblr Page for the Audio Drama 'Greater Boston,' a speculative fiction podcast set in an alt-universe Boston. By Alexander Danner & Jeff Van Dreason
Jeff here. Sorry for just taking over the GB feed with my own project. I'd post from my own Tumblr but LOL that gets even less than this page soooo yeah.
My Bandcamp page is live, and so is the pre-order for The Perfect Sentence! Pre-order it now and get three songs off it ready to download and stream before the release Friday (7/11). The price? $7.11. LOL. Get it?
It's also my birthday. So. You know. There's that!
Also also also! We're having a launch party on Thursday, July 10th at 10pm. Register for it on ZOOM at this link right here.
I've worked really hard on it. So have a lot of people. It's half memoir, half fiction. It's spoken word and it's music. It's a weird, audio fiction concept album about grief, regret, misinformation, memory, and truth. I get it's not everyone's cup of tea, but if you can spare an hour to listen, I'd really appreciate it.

on this my fourth(?) listen of Greater Boston, I have straight-up created a spreadsheet to track who is narrating which character povs & plot developments. Notes from s1:
100% FREE of the Narrator:
Dmitri
Mallory
Characters whom I assume are so far too minor to bother with: Chuck Octagon (only here to interview others so far, though notably enabling Mallory), Truck Guy (truck wanted ad), Leon's landlord (voicemail to Michael)
"Mayor" Chelmsworth (1 speech, then Narrated flashback, post-vote doubt; final abandonment is technically unNarrated but he's quoting the Narrator verbatim!!)
PB/EE/etc Poletti (1 HR complaint; is always Narrated after promotion to Managing Editor)
Nica (4 monologues, in the middle appears in a Narrated but dialogue-heavy, Louisa-focused scene; then Narrated throwing away Dmitri's puzzle case while saying "Nope" on Whirl-a-Don [symbolically killing herself like Leon, giving up on herself-who-has-siblings, making me cry])
Initially Narrated; becomes free & stays that way:
Leon (death entirely narrated except for "Nope"; after that, no focus except in flashbacks [already-written calendar items, cover letter], but speaks to Michael from narrator-level)
Control Oscillates:
Gemma (mostly narrated in Charlotte's company and when she hires Leon [read: summons Leon's ghost to the crystal ball]. Otherwise, independent, even when at Third Sight or working for Red Line)
Michael (sometimes Narrator vs Leon [not yet openly antagonistic], sometimes just Michael)
Louisa (mostly Narrated, but has eulogy for Leon, mini-ep phone tag with Michael.)
Tyrell (almost entirely Narrator-free with 3 diary entries, independent dialogue in Poletti-focus scene [the seance]...but that scene IS Narrated, so I don't count him as wholly free.
Notable Actions of the Narrator in s1:
Leon's death
Gemma summons Leon
Red Line independence (main pawn: Charlotte)
Chelmsworth abandons Red Line
Nica's vulnerability to Oliver
Louisa quits wedding photography
IN CONCLUSION: 1-4 are clearly in service to Red Line existing but vulnerable, then 5 & 6 is recruiting Nica as a pawn and...planning to recruit Louisa through Phil? I really have no idea why he pushed Louisa to quit her job, actually. She DOES then go help Red Line, and seek the crystal ball...which, I totally forget who has it now?
In conclusion-conclusion, @greaterblogston I love your fucking show and if I ever met Alexander Danner and he sounded like the Narrator irl, I might reflexively attack on sight hearing.
Hello - this is Jeff from @greaterblogston announcing an exciting new project from ThirdSight Media. EAR•WAX Magazine!

any (ghost related maybe?) comment on the loud noise a few hours ago? this feels like something thatd happen in your show
It is said that sudden, traumatic events that take place city-wide can sometimes reverberate through the multiverse, with aftershocks heard in nearby or neighboring similar universes.
ThirdSight Media is reporting that the sonic boom heard Saturday was the direct result of the entire city of Boston being transported to the moon by magic in a nearby universe.

Is there a fixed deadline / timescale for the poetry submission project? I want to submit, but I need a bit of time to decide which of my poems to send (and to do some editing). I'm also intrigued to hear more about the project, it sounds really cool 😊
Nope! The hope is this is an ongoing project where pieces get released gradually over time.
There will be an announcement soon. A new tumblr page too.
