Module 4 of STATLAB Academy is now live! I am pleased to announce the release of Module 4: Descriptive Statistics on STATLAB Academy: 🔗 https://statistics.safavim.com/ This module helps students learn how to summarize, compare, visualize, and interpret quantitative data through clear explanations, interactive activities, quizzes, synthetic datasets, and live R practice. Topics include: ✅ Mean, median, mode, trimmed mean, and geometric mean ✅ Variance, standard deviation, MAD, and coefficient of variation ✅ Chebyshev’s theorem and the Empirical Rule ✅ Z-scores and unusual observations ✅ Percentiles, quartiles, IQR, and box plots ✅ Covariance and Pearson correlation ✅ Weighted means and grouped data ✅ Skewness, kurtosis, and statistical reporting Students can edit and run R code directly in the platform, view numerical output, generate charts, download datasets, and complete applied exercises and a capstone activity. STATLAB Academy now offers four modules: Overview of Statistics Data Collection Describing Data Visually Descriptive Statistics More modules and video tutorials are on the way. I’m excited to share my new project: Global Macro Outlook AI, an interactive macroeconomic forecasting and risk-monitoring dashboard. The platform combines country macro profiles, risk scores, regime classifications, inflation tracking, central bank monitoring, fiscal and credit risk indicators, external vulnerability, commodity signals, forecasting tools, AI-style country reports, methodology notes, and transparent data-source monitoring. It currently covers major economies including the U.S., Canada, Euro Area, China, Japan, U.K., Germany, India, Brazil, and Mexico. This is an MVP designed for research, teaching, and macroeconomic decision-support. Some data sources are live, while others are clearly labelled as demo or fallback data for transparency.
