Flashback 002.
Emma: Emma had never had wine and Chinese food as a combination before, but it couldn't be too bad. "Wine sounds great," she nodded. Wine would definitely relax her a bit, Emma feeling a little wound up and nervous in a setting she wasn't used to yet. She held up the take out menu she had been reading and realized she hadn't even really looked it over, just glanced at it. "I think I'll have some sweet and sour chicken and some krab rangoons," she decided and handed it to him.
Gray: Making his way over to the cupboard, Grayson grabbed out two wine glasses and a bottle of red from the fridge, pouring into the two and handing one to Emma. He picked up his phone, ordering what Emma had asked for and a few other dishes too before making his way over to the couch to get comfortable while they waited for the food to arrive. “So have you lived in Monte your whole life?”
Flashback 002.
Emma: Chinese sounded good to Emma, but she'd take about anything if it meant spending some more time with Grayson. "Thank you," she smiled at him as he opened up her door and then she ducked her way in. The drive over was silent, neither of them seeming to want to wake Amelia, but it wasn't uncomfortable. She got the chance to really study him, which was nice. He had a strong jaw - amazing cheekbones - and that little curl of hair that seemed to fall in front of his eye no matter how many times he pushed it back. It was cute. Getting to his place, Emma got out of the car and followed him inside as she awkwardly hovered by the door. "Okay. I'll be here," she replied like a true dork and bit her lip, shaking her head at herself as she went to go grab a menu.
Gray: It didn’t take long for Grayson to put Amelia back down being as she was already asleep and in her pyjamas so all he had to do was tuck her in and leave the door slightly ajar. He made his way back downstairs to join Emma. “Do you want something to drink? I have wine or...sparkling water or juice?” He asked her. “What sort of food do you feel like?”

Emma: Hey! She gets some stuff from you too. I think her smile matches yours more than mine.
Gray: So does my Dad. She’s super cute regardless.
Flashback 002.
Emma: It was definitely the strangest start to a date she had ever been on, but Emma couldn't help but melt at the thought of Grayson being such a dedicated godfather. He was good with kids, and that already marked off a spot on her checklist. "Sure," she smiled at him and grabbed her purse. When she locked the door behind her, Emma walked in place with Grayson and bit her lip. She didn't want the awkward silence to start already so she was just going to talk until all topics of conversation died out. "So what food are we ordering?" She asked, her stomach already growling at the thought.
Gray: Thankfully Emma didn’t seem to mind and if she did, it wasn’t enough to say anything. “I was thinking Chinese but we if you’re not feeling that, we can order something else, whatever you like really. I’m not picky” Once they got to the car, Grayson opened the door for Emma with one hand and then the back door to be able to carefully put Amelia in and buckle her up without waking her. The drive to his appartment wasn’t very long and soon Grayson was unlocking the door and letting Emma in. “I’ll be right back, there’s take out menus on the table”

Emma: When Emma heard the knock, she quit brushing her hair and pulled it over her shoulder. She had been obsessively fussing over her appearance while waiting for Grayson to arrive and now that he was here, she realized she needed to just relax. If he liked her, he liked her. If he didn't..his loss? Sighing, Emma knew she was being very high-school but she was just so nervous and eager to impress this handsome man. She hadn't felt this way since her old boyfriend and she knew that was both positive and negative. At least she hadn't completely shut herself down..but at the same time, she was opening herself up to get hurt all over again. These thoughts flooded her brain as she finally reached the front door and when she opened it, she was a little surprised (but not upset) to see Amelia. "Hi," she greeted him and took the flowers. "These are beautiful..I see we have a tagalong," she teased, bringing the flowers up to smell. Gorgeous.
Gray: Grayson was mostly relieved that Emma had opened the door, just grateful she’d even agreed to coming on a date with him in the first place. “Yeah, her parents won’t be in town for a couple days and I didn’t want to have to wait that long to see you again” He explained. He hoped Emma didn’t think it was strange. It had all just coincided with the one week a year Grayson usually watched his goddaughter. “But she’s sleeping so once we get home I can put her to bed and we can order food?” He offered, waiting for Emma to be ready so they could go.

Emma: Really? Bananas? You'd think those would be soft enough. Is our Charlie gonna be a fussy eater?
Gray: Well I thought so too but apparently not. Maybe, hard to tell yet.

Gray: Standing outside the front door of where Emma had said she lived, Grayson adjusted the sleeping child on his shoulder and held the hand holding a bouquet of flowers up to the door to knock on it.
