Fire update - Things are still basically the same today, can’t return home until further notice. I managed to get in touch with someone patrolling the area saying that my street is still standing, just really smokey with lots of fallen branches. Unfortunately it seems like the surrounding areas have all been seriously burned, while I consider myself very lucky my house was most likely spared, and my heart hurts for those who have lost their homes, the animals who’s habitats have been destroyed, and the scenery that Oregon is known for that will take years to recover. Hoping I’ll come home soon and have minimal cleanup to do, and I’ll try and help those in need as soon as I can. More @graystartechnologies merch is arriving! Loving how shiny these acrylic pins turned out. I’ll have the mercy store up soon when the published book drops both online and in stores! I’ve been kicking around some ideas for 2021, after my robotics book hits store shelves in a few weeks, I’d really like to be able to make “kit” versions of the project made with CNC/laser cut material. The book is a tutorial, much like a “kit”, but does require the use of 3D printing. Lots of libraries have 3D printers for those who do not have their own, it is a highly accessible technology. But I’d really like it to be something someone can buy/start assembling right out of the box, and all/mostly metal is just plain cool. Hmmm 🤔 I foresee new equipment in my future. Better start saving! I’ve never done a Kickstarter or similar but I’ve considered it. If I did something like that, what are some Kickstarter rewards, other than the books/kits and the obvious shirts and merch that you’d be interested in?
