“we all make mistakes right? it’s good that you’re learning from them and apologizing, not many people can do that.” she said softly, watching as the boy moved closer to her. “you didn’t know all of this was going to happen, grant. it’s alright.” fallon smiled at him. “thank you grant…i really needed to hear that. i’ve been having a shitty couple of days and this is actually helping a lot. this is what happens when i don’t see you for a while.”

“hey slut.“ grant said as he walked up to addie in the library. he needed answers, even from the skanky drug dealer, he needed answers. “follow me.“ he said as he looked around, taking her hand and took them behind one of the tall abandoned book cases no one went to anymore. “okay you are gonna tell me right now what happened between you and michael. because no matter who you are, you’re not a killer and i know that.“

“hey, fallon?“ grant knocked on the door of her dorm. ever since he got here, he hadn’t had a talk with her in a while. honestly, even after they had broken up, he had never really gotten over her. and now after everything was happening, he felt he should probably check in on her. in fact he had been so focused on forgetting the past he forgot how much he liked being with fallon. even when they were broken up, even if it took her now as she opened the door. “hey are you okay?”

“ It totally is, I’m proud of you man, I know this was something you were struggling with and I’m happy you had enough strength to go through rehab,” He really hoped that Grant stuck to it, though he think it would be easy without Michael around. Standing up, he was starting to collect his stuff for the shower when he heard Grant. “ I’m good man, been just fine,” Michael’s death didn’t really affected him, he hated the guy, “ I missed you too,” Aleki admitted, letting the silence hang in the air for a bit, “ Are you sure you don’t want a bite to eat? We can go to Patty’s like old times,” Patty’s was an old 24/7 diner that they would always go to when going out to eat.

“ I mean yeah, to get better, doesn’t really help you look good though,” Aleki teased, happy that the mood was still light between them, he could see himself falling back into the same routine with Grant, minus the drugs which was a huge plus. Pulling his socks off, he shrugged his shirt off, tossing it with the shoes, “ Well, I know how you like to distract yourself, usually I was involved,” Aleki joked, looking at the other with a small smile,” Do you want to get some dinner?”

Aleki didn’t know if he should keep standing here, sit beside Grant or just talk to him as he was changing, it was nothing that Grant hadn’t seen before, he’s actually seen way more. He didn’t get to see him when he got out of rehab, partly because he was with Nate making sure he was good through Michael’s death, and Aleki didn’t think Grant would want to see him, he didn’t contact him at all. “ I’m good man, football season is going great, having a good hoco, dad couldn’t make it, and my mom is around here somewhere, I’m trying to avoid her,” He was honest with Grant in their alone times, his pastor father, horrible mother and stepfather.  He decided to move over and sit beside Grant, not too close though, “ You look good Grant…seriously, like, you look really good,” He smiled softly before bending down to undo his shoes, “ What are you trying to get your mind off of,” He asked, sitting back up, “ If you don’t mind me asking.”

This had to be fate right? Aleki wasn’t wanting to work out today, to go down to the gym and work his ass off like most nights. But homecoming was coming up and it was this big thing, maybe he would find someone to take out, and he wanted to look good. Usually he showered at home but today he was just feeling the showers in the locker room so instead of going to his car after the work out, he went to the locker room and saw Grant sitting at one of the benches.  He looked better, much better, it was awful to see the other near the end of their time together, Aleki trying his best to get Grant to stop without ruining their relationship, at least he got help. Walking over slowly, he cleared his throat, “ Hey Grant,” His words were soft, scared that he would run the other off before they had a chance to talk, “ I didn’t expect to see you here this late,” It was already nearing midnight, Aleki loved to be alone in the gym so he can really go at it. @grant-inline​

CRIMSON: I’ll get the video that’s final

WILLIAM: yeah i’m with crim. i’d rather not get the video from the football dudes

CALLA: no one's fucking anything up on my watch

GRANT: crimson gets it and saylor make sure it goes smoothly. THAT is final.

GRANT: will, you're doing tickets

GRANT: Calla, you already know

GRANT: Sab, meet me at my room

SABINA: jfc. i don't care who gets the video or who takes the tickets. just make sure it's done.

SABINA: yes that's what event coordinator is in charge of?

SABINA: can everyone just do their jobs?? it's not that difficult

SABINA: grant, we need to go over our presentation.

GRANT: fine whatever.

GRANT: saylor can do flowers and video

GRANT: Calla just make sure she doesn't fuck up

SABINA: crimson is hopeless with technology. she can't fuck up the flowers. saylor can get the video and set everything up. william can collect tickets.

SABINA: as long as these new flowers aren't coming out of the stuco budget. we have enough eyes on us already, no thanks to some of you.

SABINA: i shouldn't even have to say this, but keep in mind that you're all representing stuco. so everyone keep your shit in order.

CRIMSON: rude, sab. rude. but I’m on board. I love responsibility

WILLIAM: okay. done.

GRANT: crimson can do the technology just fine. but if it's that much that u don't trust crimson william can do the video.

GRANT: saylor is the one who wants to do something, she can do the flowers and tickets.

SAYLOR: yeah, it's fine. i can do it.

CRIMSON: they’re not white carnations, grant. they’re white japanese anemone. the flower for fall 2019

WILLIAM: there must be a job saylor can do.

CALLA: 👀

GRANT: fine. she can change dozens of tables from white cliche flowers by tonight.

SAYLOR: done. i'm on it.

WILLIAM: okay.

WILLIAM: where’s the video at?

CRIMSON: white flowers with crystal vases on each table as a centrepiece

CRIMSON: and i talked to the dj and told him there will be a slow dance portion so he has to have a playlist ready for that

CRIMSON: i can go pick up the video!

CRIMSON: [deleted] it’s the least i can do for Michael after fucking on his bed

SABINA: the video is obviously with the football team if they put it together...

SABINA: just someone go get it. i don't care who.

SABINA: tell the dj to steer clear of that annoying aerosmith song or anything cliche.

SAYLOR: I will go with you Crim! I know where it's at!

GRANT: crimson can go by herself we don't need more people jumping on that wagon.

“  that’s right …  ”    baring her teeth sheepishly,  something of a light-bulb flickers.  “  those bad… bad influences.  they’re like…  what do you call it?  a trigger?   hmm…   am i your trigger, grant?  is that why you’ve come crawling back here into my corner?   my, don’t i feel special.     ”    shedding her sheep pelt,  he can almost see a glimpse of  adelaide  -  leering dangerously close, warm breath on his neck, beady eyes filled with an insidiousness that can only echo in an abyss; bottomless, hopeless, full of teeth.   “  silly mouse, don’t sell yourself so short -   ”   in an almost childlike lilt childlike, her notes hit sweet and airy, sticking against his cheek like warm honey.   “ you did a pretty good job of filling me up for awhile.  ”   lips clash  - a judas kiss, full of ill-intent; violent, quick, razor-sharp against the flesh.    “   now, you should really get on with that third step, grant.  before i start to get bored  &  decide i wanna play with you some more.  ”
