I love how Stede says "I think you broke my nose" but in the next scene he's holding the steak to the outside of his eye. How do you mistake that so badly??? I love it
I also think it's interesting how we see Ed kill - directly kill - in this season, and especially so casually. We could say that when he lost Stede that's what sent him over the edge, (do we call how Ed became after the Breakup a manic state?) but he doesn't have trouble with it when they get back together either.
That line, "I don't think anyone's waiting for me," I don't know why it gets me so bad but it DOES
All I'm saying is that I wish my hair looked like Ed's

Oh and something else is you know from Archie's perspective she's on this crazy, insane, over-the-top captain's ship (which is about par for the course for her yeah) but she keeps hearing about "oh he wasn't always like this," and totally gets the backstory from Jim and French and Fang about how he wasn't always quite so insane, and in FACT he was actually in love with this guy Steve and he got dumped and that's why he is how he is. And THEN Stede himself turns up and we get a little of Archie's perspective when she says "I thought you'd be taller" but think about it! Blackbeard is a crazy insane dude who puts a gun to his own head, shoots his best friend, tries to get you and someone else to fight to the death after steering the ship into the storm AND threatens to shoot a cannon into the mast, and then the very next day your ex-captain is standing in front of you in pajamas with a bell around his neck talking about safe space ships and making heart eyes at Stede. What a mindfuck.
I love how the end of s1 has Izzy looking down on Ed and Ed's grieving have no place in his eyes, telling him not to be Ed. But the last episode of s2 has Izzy looking at Ed crying and saying "They love you Ed. Be Ed."
And that is so beautiful because Izzy had this entire arc this season but how many of us wish that those we've been in relationship with would verbally accept and appreciate the very things they've condemned?
Everyone talks about the boots staying on during sex but how about when the Freddies were screaming at each other Nandor violently hitting his Freddie with the feather to calm him down?
Many of the characters I don’t like I don’t like because they are whiny. No, I do not like to see myself reflected in the media I consume, thank you.

Every time I hear a mention of time I am startled. I was listening to Bad Wolf’s Zombie and when he said 2018 I deadass jumped. That was 3 years ago? an entirely different world?? I think we’ve graduated past the need to keep time, I’m. done understanding the passing of time, thanks
Dousy
Yk what I love about Daisy x Sousa? At no point in their flirting/kissing career are they embarrassed or uncomfortable. They are completely honest about how they feel about each other, and there’s none of that terrible dancing around that is such a hallmark of almost any move/tv show that includes romance (and that’s a lot).Â
Daisy goes up and kisses Sousa in the time loop and doesn’t do the awkward bashful thing and is just like “aight let’s go take care of a robot.” We could chalk it up to her knowing he won’t remember, but then when Sousa kisses her it’s the same thing. He says “I didn’t know I was going to do that” and she isn’t like wtf, she says “I’m glad you did.” *chefs kiss* And also in the time loop, she asks him to be honest and he is with the least awkwardness and embarrassment when he is literally saying “hey you’re my type” and when she says “That’s awfully specific” and he doesn’t back down???? He’s like “I know what I said and I stand behind it” That kind of emotional vulnerability? I could never. It’s fucking gorgeous.
AOS relationships
Something I think that Agents of SHIELD did best was their relationships. I have rarely seen a show- especially a long running action show!- that paid such careful attention to relationships. Not only does each character actually have their own unique personality (a lot of times with so many characters they all blend together), and every one of them has a unique relationship with the rest of them. You’ve got friend relationships, father/daughter relationships, romantic relationships, sister relationships, and on and on. That’s what I kept watching for. The action was great, and obviously the relationships needed some sort of backdrop, but that was who I was there for. The family, the people. And aos did that beautifully.
And yall- for all the will they wont they all the way through the show, all the tragedy, we got a really great ending. Like- they spend almost half of an episode closing out the show and the characters. I was genuinely able to walk away from that finale without disappointment. I never get to do that!
I would like a porch to sit on and drink iced tea please and thank you
Also I love that Sam’s nephews literally call him “Uncle Sam.” Two of his names are Captain America and Uncle Sam. I’m pretty sure that’s double the America Steve had going for him

Cap’s suit
At first I thought that the new suit was a little weird. The white was jarring, there was a lot more almost awkward bulk to the suit, and the shape of the headgear was odd. But the more I think about it, some of these details I thought odd make sense! First the white: somebody said the white in the flag stands for purity, and that’s why Sam’s version has so much more white than the previous Caps, esp in contrast to Walker’s. The bulk to the suit- he’s not a super soldier like the others! He needs that extra armor! And then the headgear, which I have the most feelings about. It cradles his head and neck, and again it offers that extra protection, but it also gives the feeling that it was designed and made with so much care. It reminds me of the way we cradle baby’s heads to protect them. Obviously that’s not the imagery I apply to him, the point is that it’s a sort of intimacy. Whether it was Bucky or Shuri who designed it (seeing different theories on that) they gave great thought about what areas needed more protection for him.
And also! Walker’s suit was derivative of Steve’s, it wasn’t made with him in mind from the start, he was filling someone else’s shoes. But Sam’s? He may be wearing the stars and stripes but it doesn’t feel anything like Steve’s (or Walker’s for that matter). He’s not trying to fill anyone’s shoes but his own. He’s going to do it his own way.
And of course the obvious angelic symbolism which I am HERE FOR. That shot with him with his wings spread and Karli in his arms? Beautiful. A masterpiece.
tfatws finale
What I liked best about the finale was that Sam took up the shield on his own. No one gave it to him. No one authorized him to be Captain America, like the gov tried to do with Walker. Sam stood up and decided, regardless of law or support, he was going to do what he could, he was going to do good. Idk where the Accords are post-blip, but I would assume acting in that capacity is at the very least still iffy. Sam didn’t ask for permission, he did what he had to do.
And so often movies gloss over the fact that sometimes the heroes are just as bad as the villains, or that their ideals don’t line up with reality. and I was worrying about where they were going to go with that when Sam talked to Karli saying this isn’t the way to handle things- when the problem was, what other way did the flag-smashers have to fight back? But then it was addressed! Captain America is holding the authorities responsible for what they do going forward, to make things better. He didn’t leave it at, “I know things are shitty but you shouldn’t fight back,” he got up and he stood up in front of everyone and did something about it.
Sam Wilson, y’all
