Sailor Pluto's skin tone is widely inconsistent across Sailor Moon media, but her skin is colored a dark gray in the manga. My first venu into the Sailor Moon franchise was the manga, so I thought Pluto's skin was meant to be some shade of brown. But she's not always brown in merch & colored media, much to my confusion.

The character designer of Lolirock claimed Talia wasn't meant to be Black representation since she's an alien. She has straight hair in the cartoon, too.

I re-designed Jenny with a dark skin-tone, a broad nose done in kind of a little bump-style (to match what this movie and other Hanna-Barbera titles sometimes had going on), color and shape definition to her mouth, and hair styled in braided twists that end in little ties with small curls. I changed her outfit slightly, adding a cuffed collar to each sleeve in a peachy color that matches the sparkles of her dress, and instead of a cape (that looked too much like what Mr Moundshroud had already), she has a wrapped-shawl that works as a cloak. I also gave Jenny a more chubby body-type, she's a main character who gets to fly through the air on a broom, not just a funny side-character or a jealous villain. Jenny is a girl who is athletic and brave... except when it comes to HEIGHTS. On more than one occasion, a friend has had to talk her into going up/getting down from an apple tree. In her segment of the story, when she realizing riding a broom is a little like riding her bike, she gains the confidence to soar through the skies!

Mr Moundshroud is voiced by Leonard Nimoy, and he plays the delightfully wicked character so good! In the original design, his skin is tinted slightly green, and he has a long exaggerated nose... I thought that needed some adjusting. So instead, he is a pale cream color, with a nose that instead looks somewhat "flat" (think of him like a skeleton made of flesh. no, not a skeleton covered in muscle and skin, but the actual skeleton being the muscle with skin... only, not totally gross and creepy). He can be intimidating and mysterious, sometimes sounding harsh and menacing, but I don't think he's truly "evil". He's a... GOOD villain. We all love a good villain!

The core plot of the Halloween Tree is; a group of friends gather on Halloween night to go trick-or-treating, but notice somebody is missing... Pipkin, who is known for being the best at just about anything he does. Worried about why he's late, they go to his house and discover he's been taken to the hospital for appendicitis... but, strangely, they think they see him running through the woods? The group follows, discovering a mysterious old house, a strange man named Mr Moundshroud, and a huge tree with Jack-o-Lanterns growing on every branch! Pipkin has climbed to the time, trying to take a pumpkin that almost seems to have his face, and then he VANISHES. Mr Moundshroud is upset that "his property has been stolen", but the kids just want to rescue their friend! The glowing light in the pumpkin he took is not only his life but "time", and now Pipkin is lost somewhere in the past. Mr Moundshroud is also appalled at the evidently poor knowledge each child has about Halloween traditions and their own costume choices. So, they go on a journey together, to many different places, in many different time periods, discovering things about the world, themselves, and how to finally save Pipkin.
