YESS thank u sm for the request hehehe, pls keep in mind this is my first time writing for Yoko, ended up being a little short, but I hope you love it!!
Art had always interested you. The search for something new and abstract was a never-ending itch in the back of your brain that no amount of Renaissance paint could ever quite scratch.
You had been to countless exhibits, all seeming to regurgitate the same stale concept in a slightly varied form. It was at one particular art exhibit that you had heard a whisper of the name, some performance piece supposedly about famine was being displayed though it didn't much interest you, not as much as the suggestion of niche art. The whisper stuck. Yoko ono.. A peculiar type of name for the area, and certainly one that caught your attention.
"Um, Excuse me sir?" You say as you walk up towards the side of his conversation, feeling a bit rude to interrupt but undeniably intrigued. He looked a bit shocked stammering for a moment as he turned from his conversation, you wasted no time. "Yes, sorry for the intrusion but- what exhibition are you discussing?" You ask curiously, hoping your casual tone would quell the now slightly awkward atmosphere.
"uh, Yoko ono. She's displaying a performance piece here this Thursday.." He said, his gaze flickering over to his company as he stayed turned towards the conversation. "Ah! Thank you sir" you nod, smiling just a bit at them both before letting them get back to talking amongst themselves.
The following Thursday you arrived at the same venue as informed, curious as to who this interesting woman might be. You hadn't asked for a time so naturally you show up at the same time you were there a few days prior. When you arrive it seems the exhibit is in full swing, people chattering politely and looking around at other displayed art as they drift through.
You beeline for where the crowd seems focused, spotting a small piece of oddly cut fabric on the floor, which people seemed to be walking over curiously. You drift as casually as you can, observing the art and searching for the artist. When you get a bit closer you see the note that was placed with the fabric, 'A work to be stepped on.' Was written on it, and the scrap seemed to be dirtied up and at this point fairly well trampled. You smile as you step over it, finding the idea brilliant.
Again you find yourself searching for the artist, wishing to discuss the true meaning behind it. You catch the eye of a woman who seems to know what she was doing there, quite beautiful with long black hair that slightly shrouded her dark brown eyes, you approach her with a small and polite smile.
"Hello, would you happen to know where I could find Yoko Ono? She's the artist and I'd love to ask her a few questions" you chirp amicably, she smiles softly and you can't help but think to yourself that it was a pretty sight. She laughs, shifting her long, wavy hair out of the way. "I'm Yoko Ono" she says, a slight accent to her speech.
You blush immediately, the blood rushing to your cheeks as you exclaim softly in embarrassment, "oh! I'm terribly sorry- your picture wasn't included anywhere" you blurt out. You were already a bit shy talking to the beautiful woman, and now its been revealed that she made the art piece you had just been fawning over.
You realize you were only making it worse and decide to just ask your question, hoping a bit of verbal admiration might help settle the atmosphere. "I absolutely love your piece" you admit, looking Into the intense brown eyes of hers, the curtain of her hair a gorgeous contrast with her skin. "Walking on art, very new wave" you compliment, as you enjoyed how she didn't seem to care for the 'untouchable' pedestal a lot of art was put at.
She looks over your blush with a smile, looking a bit amused at your scramble for a handle on yourself. "I'm glad you love it. You're right, about the new wave part." She says, her voice soft and feminine and a bit of a smirk on her pink lips as she watched you try and will the blush away out of sheer determination, failing abysmally.
"There's no need to be embarrassed" she assures, still smiling as she waits a moment for a response. "oh! Oh no I'm not" you lie, your cover up thin as fog. You clear you throat, shifting a bit on heels as she seems to be amused.
"um, so Yoko right?" You say after a moment of silence, forcing your eyes to meet hers again "uh are you doing any more shows in the area?" You smile hopefully, praying you didn't just look like a awkward creep.
"Yes, miss..?" She waits for a name as you stammer a moment before answering, as you had gotten a bit entranced in her gaze "oh! Yeah, yeah it's (Y/N). just (Y/N)." Your gaze darts to your shoes a moment as you answer, a small smile spreading on your face as you were tickled she wanted your name. "I'm sorry, your eyes are stunning" you blurt with a small laugh that betrayed how your tummy was flipping occasionally.
"thank you (Y/N)" she smiled wide now, carefully redirecting a bit of her hair. "I have another Exhibit in two weeks, I would love for you to come" she offers. You swear you almost jump for joy, she had invited you?
"Yeah! I mean- yeah, yes ill come" you forget for a moment to play it cool, an slightly overheated chirp escaping your lips. You meet her gaze again, now feeling a bit more confident as you see her smile, a matching one on your own face.
"I'm glad, ill be waiting" she says in the soft cadence. You smile one last time, turning away with a tummy full of butterflies and cheeks hot with opportunity, nothing could keep you from that exhibit.
AN: what do we think? So glad to write this, and requests are OPEN!!
