King

King is Eda's demon (familiar?). He's child-like in his love of toys and silly things. He's a good sidekick to Eda (familiar?). He'll tell anyone that listens that he's the King of Demons. Including, but absolutely not limited to plants and stuffed rabbits.

Best Characteristics: Loyal, he has a good manager voice, good friend to Eda

Worst Characteristic: Delusional (maybe?)

Character Design:

King is a cutesy-wutesy fluffy-wuffy wittle demon. His body is black and resembles a cat, including the tail. He has weird (pincers?)(claws?) for hands and feet. The top half of his head is like a skull with horns and giant teeth. His eyes have no whites. They are yellow and red and black. He also wears a red collar with a gold tag.

Eda

Eda is a witch who lives in the Owl House on the Boiling Isles. She is wanted for being a weirdo with a price of 1 trillion snails on her head. She runs a stall that sells human memorabilia. She leaves a trail of broken hearts behind her.

Best characteristics: Quick, badass fighter, loyal, funny, powerful (THE MOST POWERFUL WITCH ON THE BOILING ISLES)

Worst characteristics: Her body parts keep falling off, lies or feeds into others delusions to the point of unhealthiness

Character Design:

Eda has really crazy white hair, pointy ears, a pointy chin, gold earrings and giant golden ring, a tatty red sleeveless dress, and red heeled boots. Very yellow eyes and a single gold tooth. She also carries a staff that doubles as her witch's broom and the wooden owl on it can come to life and travel to the human world to steal trash.

Luz

Luz is a young teenage weirdo with a giant imagination that tends to get her in trouble.

Best characteristics: kind, big imagination, resourceful, funny, optimistic, perceptive

Worst characteristics: lies to her mother, thoughtless

Character Design:

She has a giant head and a small body. She has wild hair, pierced ears, a blue and white cat hoodie, a messenger bag (with pins on it (one might be a dinosaur skull?)), and blue jean shorts over leggings. She has really big eyes and a really big smile.

The scene with the principal at the beginning

Her reaction to the Burger Queen™ crown

Rallying the escaped prisoners to fight

There's an argument here about how cell phone service works there. Considering the fact that none of them know how cell service works here. . . I'm thinking it's a moot point.

We are stopping here to avoid character spoilers for the future, apparently. We will also be skipping the intro next time.

We are going to do pre-spectives for Eda, Luz, and King. And Son-Bot is going to ask me some questions. But first, let's wrap up our general emotions about the whole thing.

It was not at all what I expected. I really like the fun personalities and senses of humor. I like all the fun stuff in the background too. The animation is growing on me, but I didn't like it at first. Pretty sure that's because I had something in my head that I thought it was, that was very different.

I hope we still get to hang out with the fan-fiction writer, triangular philosopher, and eye eater more in the future. I could do without the guards though. Warden Wrath was a pretty awesome creep though, so I'm guessing we'll see more of him.

So, my rating system before when I did Steven Universe was if it made me laugh, if it made me cry, if it made me get angry, if it made me look something up - on top of my general emotion.

Nice that Eda tried to send Luz back. I was nearly convinced that she couldn't actually do that or wouldn't for some other reason.

How out of touch do you have to be to think that stealing your romance's pet's favorite thing, hiding it from him, waiting until he finds it, cutting off your romance's head, and crumbling her pet's favorite thing might lead to a date?
