I hate having to announce this, but my baby boy Pepper has been diagnosed with doggy lymphoma. Based on his test results and symptoms, they’re thinking stage 4. But any further investigation would require him to be put under, which is not something the vet thinks that he could even handle. The only treatments are out of my budget and would only prolong the inevitable for maybe a few months. Pep and I have been through a lot together. SEVERAL months ago I met a gentleman in our favorite Bowling Green watering hole by the name of Charlie Ray. He walks in with a photo album that once belonged to his mother. She was employed as an administrative assistant in Hollywood during what some would consider the absolute greatest time for cinema. Flipping through, I notice several signed pictures of some of my favorite old actors and actresses...including my first crush. Vera-Ellen...known for her role alongside Rosemary Clooney in White Christmas. I offered him money on the spot for her signed picture to which he politely refused. Coming back to work today, what do I find in my mailbox? Nothing other than the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. Thank you so much, Charlie Ray!
