It was so very clear for the first time, all of it...It was a village square in a green with trees and an old white-washed Spanish church with a cloister. Across the green, there was a big gray wooden house with a porch and shutters and a balcony above, a small garden, and next to it a livery stable with old carriages lined up inside...At the end of the green, there was a white-washed stone house with a lovely pepper tree at the corner.

Idk who needs to hear this but customer service workers tend to be way nicer and more accommodating and willing to help when you're friendly and they like you. Getting angry at someone who is probably being paid below minimum wage and just following a script because they'll be fired otherwise isn't going to help, so even if you're frustrated and upset when dealing with customer service, put on your nicest smile and cheeriest voice and prepare to make reassurances and the occasional joke.
Remember that the person behind the counter or on the other end of the call is a human being who probably has way less power in your situation than you think they do.
