So A Knight's Tale just arrived on the rotation of Youtube's free movies and thus far my favorite part of this movie is how the main tension is between the characters that know they're in A Knight's Tale (modern sports drama with a Middle Ages setting-aesthetic) and the characters who think they're in the actual Middle Ages.

William: Come on, Wat, haven't you ever had a dream? A dream of being a champion, rising to be the very best, changing your stars?

So I recently came across a Youtube video breaking this down and it turns out that A Knight's Tale was set at a time and place where the peasants were doing revolts, pushing for more rights, and preaching against the nobility, meaning William's attitude is actual reflection of a contemporary political movement. Apologies, A Knight's Tale, I wasn't familiar with your game.
