Reposted from @mfrazier72 The reason you don’t see tricks like this clip on vert very often,is because skaters like @colinmckay don’t come a dime a dozen! The skaters that were leading the charge on progression from my skate generation /timeline (early 90’s to present day) were a very select group. It was guys like @colinmckay @buckylasek @tonyhawk @bobburnquist @dannyway and a few others. They were the ones that their peers (including myself) looked to, to see what was possible next. Every video part was full of stuff that had Never Been Done before. It’s not like we watched their clips and thought “Oh... I GOT that one!”, it was more of” Ohhhh fuck.... THATS possible?” 😆 These guys did the stuff first that didn’t seem possible, and just as the rest of us started to catch up and learn a couple of their previous NBD’s, they were already onto the next NBD’s that would take the rest of us still longer to learn. 🤦♂️There were guys to lead the charge before them for sure , and due respect to them. The guys that I mentioned are just the guys that helped shape the face of vert skating from the early 90’s to what it has become today.
