Your blog specifies that only rats are allowed here...
I shall explain to you a scenario and you must tell me if I am qualified to be a rat....
I went to my kitchen, in the dead of the nights to fetch some water.
The kitchen was dark, so I had stepped forwards to turn the lights on.
Before the wall laid a sticky traps I had laid, designed for rats, but I had used it for pesky roaches...
As you can imagine, I stepped into said sticky rat trap...
And I am terrified of roaches, so, I realized that there were a few stuck on the trap, so, I trashed my leg around as hard as I could....
My parents heard all the trashing and had actually thought I was a rat, so they came armed...
To see me stuck, pathetically.
I have done my part, so, now....
I must ask you if I do qualify as a rat.
I am sorry if this story has insulted you in any way.
See, that's a little bit of a tricky ask. Because I completely get the 'not wanting roaches around' part. But sticky traps???? There has GOT to be a better solution. >-<
Lets imagine for a sec that you ARE a rat. Now you're stuck in a sticky trap!!! Glue from sticky traps (usually called glue traps, I believe) is INCREDIBLY hard to get off, and most rats trapped in them get stuck forever and aren't removed! They die from dehydration, starvation, and some even end up breaking or even ripping off limbs in their desperation to escape them! And all these things that will eventually lead to them dying last for DAYS. It's a very sad and inhumane to go out.
So, while getting stuck in a sticky trap definitely gave you some insight on how ratties stuck in them also feel, my answer to your question is I really don't know, lol. Sticky traps are indiscriminate and catch anything that comes across them.
Real question is, do you feel like you qualify as a rat? O-O
I am not the end all be all governance on who can call themselves a rat. But all rats are welcome <3
(and the occasional honorary rat, those of which are not technically rats)
