Why be the butcher

When a character doesn’t realize they’ve been, like, shot or whatever and they hand brushes against their side and comes away wet with blood, and they’re just staring at it like wtf is this and then their knees just totally give out on them and they sink down, maybe gasping a little as the reality finally hits them. That’s good stuff.

Rip my tongue out and kiss me. Cut my throat open and tell me I'm pretty.

There is no fire that could burn away my corruption, but why don't we try anyway? I know I'd just shy away myself but if you'll hold me down, together we can try to cleanse my loathsome self and make me clean again, once we just boil away those imperfections.
