I wanted to make a non intimidating (pencil) and paper tutoriel for beginniners who don’t know if they have the ability to follow along with the big shots yet. (ie this is a confidence booster).

1. The first thing I do is the very rough sketch. I use a medium to large sized graphite pencil for this, beging very lose and forgiving of my strokes to just try and create an outline for myself to follow.

2. Then, I create a more solid outline of what I’m working with using a thicker pencil, and pushing down a little harder. This is where you can make your details a little more intense.

3. Next, I erase the sketchier bits, and in this case, decide I want to add a body. I also add in some other details.

4. Now I go through everything with a pen. I personally like using a grey pen so I can outline it with something else later on. I use a thin brush type pen (pictured), and erase any pencil left.

5. Time for colors! At this point your housemate will come in and worry about you being up and active at 1 am in the morning. Reassure them you’ll get 8 hours and get back to drawing! I think the biggest thing I learned here is to start with the lighter colors and that you can use the same pencil for shading by just going over it more and pushing the pencil more. Everything here was with one pencil.

6. Now you can add the rest of your colors! And voila, you have a skeleton (or whatever you’re drawing).

Eyes

sometimes they come back… and sometimes it’s just waking nightmares, in which if the whole body is transformed or studded with sharp objects and it didn’t exactly me.
