Will you still support mark after this?
(i wrote a hefty amount i apologizeš) also huge start up i am not defending him or his actions with this collab at all, donāt interact with the collab. boycott it. at the moment itās hard to exactly say yes or no so maybe it is. i donāt hate mark nor do i think heās a bad person but i do believe he is just someone who made a really damn idiotic choice with this collab. like iāve mentioned iāve supported him for the past five years so this whole thing happening is a shock.
without sounding or being parasocial in a way it is hard to fully let go and refuse any interaction towards mark as a person and an artist, you know what i mean? since i was about 14/15 he has been someone i looked up to heavily and in certain intenses did āsaveā me. someone who i looked up to avidly. gave me motivation and more to look forward to, nct as a whole really. whole group helped me through multiple tough times i went through growing up. am i phrasing this right? hopefully i am.
will i continue to write/make post for mark? not sure yet. maybe. i feel like it would be hypocritical to just straight up say no to writing/supporting mark since i still show support towards doyoung though this same thing happened with him in 2023. i do hold doyoung to same standard and am/have been holding him accountable. so itās hard to give a straight up yes or no answer with mark.
same goes for multiple groups i stanned/stan and having just recently found out they collabed with mcdonaldās. anyone correct me if iām wrong but most barely received backlash? i feel/think this because i am barely finding out these collaborations even exist just because this situation with mark happened. though i could be wrong on how much backlash the idols went through but i seriously had no idea really any of these collabs had happened until this mark one did.
groups/idols i am speaking of (that i barely recently found out also collabed and some date back to last year and even earlier this year.) are key & minho from shinee, aespa, bts (though i obviously know about them since it just happened but i feel the need to mention them since they also collab with mcdonaldās) niki from enhypen, & riize. also i do not agree with any of these collaborations and am very much against them. but one thing i have noticed from other people saying they hate mark or that they wonāt support him anymore but then go on and support any of these groups as well. i am not saying who you can and canāt support but this is just a slight double standard i have noticed.
so what lead me to that is it would just be pure stupidity and hypocrisy on my part if i said i will stop supporting mark fully but then go on and support said mentioned groups/idols.
i am not trying to downplay the mark collab at all (or defend him), i have voiced my disappointments and opinion on this whole thing in my last post.
for the time being i dont think iāll really make any mark texts/fics (if this question is relevant/ just incase anybody wondered or cared.) though that is just how i feel as of now. like said in my last post donāt interact with the mark x mcdonaldās collab and boycott it.
i hope what i said makes sense, if not ask anything that anyone feels i should explain better.
