Self - listen up!!
Emotional abuse is one hell of a drug.
βIt is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.β
β Philip K. Dick
It's more than appropriate. Reacting to a damaging environment is normal. .

βThere are some people youβll never see again. At least, not in the same way.β
β Iain Thomas
When you reach a certain point in a relationship, a marriage ..
After holding hope, tirelessly, that maybe they'll finally become that person who shows up for you. Only for it to silently shift to, "it'll be nice if they change but I'm not counting on it."
it's not rage... It's not denial, it's realism.
You're not closing the door but you're not leaning your weight against it anymore either.
You didn't wake up cynical, you arrived here carefully, with clarity.

You ever love tf out of somebody but they killing you mentally & emotionally?
People without chronic pain will get annoyed at you when you're truthful about how you are feeling. They'll say "it"s always something " And yes, that's 100% true..because it IS always something.. That's what chronic means .
Don't ask someone how they are doing if you expect them to lie so that you don't feel uncomfortable with their truth.
If it annoys you when someone mentions their pain.. Imagine how they feel living with it 24/7.
Something I've noticed and briefly talked about before is that when a woman is arrested for some kind of criminal activity towards a man, I tend to see at least one comment (but usually more) of someone saying we shouldn't judge her because we don't know the full story yet
Maybe not on every single post I've seen, but many of them do
But a lot of these people who say that are hypocritical. They say that in regards to the woman, but they've already deduced that the man has hurt her in some way that drove her to do whatever it is that she did (he cheated, he abused her, etc etc)
If you're going to insist that we can't judge her for not knowing the full story, you can't judge him either and act as though your version is what happened with absolute certainty
You have to be consistent

"sickness, self-portrait" 10x10 acrylic on canvas
about feeling defined by illness and disability, and that all I'll ever be is a sick person trying to masquerade as something more.
