JUNE 1956 || During their State Visit to Sweden, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were accompanied to the History Museum by King Gustaf Adolf of Sweden.
She was given a guided tour of the museum and looked at the various artifacts present as she listened with great interest.
King Gustaf Adolf who was himself interested in history and science and must have been a great person to tour the museum with.

Unseen pictures of her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
How incredible ! A letter from Queen Elizabeth II to Prince Philip, 3 weeks before their reunion in Lisbon in 1957, has been auctioned and made public.
“Still 3 weeks to go and what a tiresome date it is, too,for me” , “All my love darling, your very loving Lilibet”🥺
Ps : Elizabeth and Anne wanted the beard off🤣
Despite the media speculating about Elizabeth & Philip’s marriage, here some excerpts from papers at that time following the Lisbon’s reunion.
The Queen and the duke were reportedly laughing, smiling and holding hands ❤️
No bc everyone and their mothers were having a field day seeing the Queen and Prince Philip hold hands but the photos??? None. The press had one job omg I hate it here 🤧

“And on that distant day when he succeeds to the throne, I wonder if memory will take him back through the years to a small incident of childhood. It was a few weeks before his mother’s coronation. I had been given the task of brushing the Queen’s coronation robe before it was taken to Westminster Abbey, for the actual ceremony….Kneeling, I set to work to impart a smooth, satiny flow to the rich velvet. I was busy in this fashion when Charles, then only four years old, came out of the elevator and began hop-skipping his way along the corridor towards his mother’s sitting room. He stopped when he saw me, watching with interest. Boy-like, he wanted to know what I was doing. “Brushing the Queen’s robe ready for the coronation,” I told him. A small, childish frown etched itself across his brow. “Who is the Queen?” he asked. I paused in my brushing and told him that the Queen was his mother. Briefly and simply, in words suitable for four-year-old understanding, I explained about the coronation. It was, I like to think, his first lesson in the meaning of monarchy. Seemingly the lesson struck. Some weeks later, when the coronation had come and gone, I overheard him in childhood conversation with his small sister, Anne. “There won’t be another coronation for years and years and years,” he was telling her. “And when there is, it will be mine.””

Happy 59th birthday to Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh!
Born on March 10th 1964, Edward Antony Richard Louis is the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and the youngest sibling of King Charles III. Edward is currently 13th in line of succession to the British throne.
He married Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999 and the couple has two children: Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor (19) and James Mountbatten-Windsor, Earl of Wessex (15). Edward was made Earl of Wessex prior to his wedding and Earl of Forfar in 2019; his brother King Charles III made him Duke of Edinburgh today, on his 59th birthday. That was his father’s last wish.

I’m reading a bio on King Charles and this part comes up and I know you will love it!🤣

I’ve always loved this story lmao it never gets old!
There’s actually a detailed version of it omg let me find it wait
There is still a long list of women with whom Philip (pictured on holiday in the Med in 1951), 95 in June, is alleged to have had affairs, f
This is what I mean when I say it’s weird. His dad visits him while he’s flying a remote controlled aircraft, and tells him how proud he is of all his work…and he fantasizes about blowing him up.
And this is a sane man? But is he kind? Are you OK? Jeez.
Evil and totally…
So he... nearly blew up his father's car.
His father. The then-Prince of Wales and current-King.
He put IN WRITING that he almost assassinated the king.
What. The. Fuck.
Holy. Shit.
This takes the cake.
Happiest of birthdays to HRH The Princess of Wales 🎉🎂🥳
Wishing she spends a day full of love and surrounded by positive light 🕯️
