Gathering light. 36” x 48”. These two paintings I’ve done of the figure with spheres of yellow just emerged between the abstract forms. I didn’t really mean to paint them at first. I’m going through so many changes in my life right now. Changing careers to become a psychotherapist, learning an incredible amount, trying to more kind to myself, I feel my perception of what “good” is, is changing. I feel like I’m letting go of so many things and it’s really hard but I feel myself getting stronger as I let go of trying to be seen a certain way. I’ve driven myself in life always looking for something better, the next place, the next relationship, the next adventure, the next business, the next meal, the next romance and it’s been a lot of things, amazing, difficult, fun, weird and always looking forward but I feel something else is settling inside of me and I want to stay still enough to watch the old ways crumble and really let it in. Worked on this saucy little weirdo yesterday. Something about symbols. It’s small! 4” x 4”. I thought I’d try out some little pieces.
