accusations of aggression or singling them out. "they deserve better than to be the outlet for ur anger!" 🙄 or "is this about me bc it feels like it's about me" well if the shoe fits bitch 😭

and then throughout all this

misarticulating ur point back to u showing a clear lack of comprehension bc they Refuse (this is an active choice) to admit to the truth and nuance of ur lived experience

going "oh gotcha" then proceeding to waste ur time with a whole ass paragraph of justification for some bullshit u dont care about

chalking it up to a "difference of opinion/taste/experience" as if no harm or violence has occurred. a reiteration of their desire to do Nothing and change Nothing

and then they will inevitably follow up with More self victimization like a couple vague statements about how hard their life is rn and how theyre trying their best and everyone is so mean to them

and as a result of this, trek fandom's insistence in refuting white conservative outrage about academy by building this extreme defensiveness about chancellor ake as this quirky silly benevolent lady that "you just have to love" feels like it will make it difficult for there to be a Real and Useful conversation about how her character very much feels set up to be the white maternalizing figure who tames caleb's character and reforms this criminal into a model cadet by forcing him into her benevolent vision of Hope...

if it doesnt turn out that way, great i'll be glad, but 3 episodes in i have my reservations and it's driving me nuts to feel like Already there's no room in the fandom conversation to voice reasonable critique of her....

also students hold the power of hope in academic institutions and seeing fandom investment in the chancellor as if academic administration is the vision of a hopeful future is such a fuckin eyeroll bro especially with the current landscape of academia like cmon
