GTC, you probably won't even see this, so it's just me screaming into the void, but whatever.
Lionheart was a true masterpiece, even for someone like me, who'd never read a Dramione fic before at the time. I was lucky enough to stumble upon it while browsing general tags. Its premise was interesting enough, and the following week flew by, I was binging non-stop.
Your writing was captivating. One of those stories that remind you of reading the original work, invoke the same magic you felt decades ago. The characters felt real, even those that weren't the main focus. It's no surprise then that I grew to love not only Draco and Golden Trio, but also Daphne, Pansy and many others. Even started shipping some of them, like Ron and Daphne. They were in the background, but intentionally or not I felt certain connection, certain potential, even early on.
Your story made me realize some things about Draco that I couldn't see before. It made me wish he'd found Hermione, Harry, Ron and others in canon as well. A far kinder fate. As for the main couple itself, their bond was unshakeable. Sure, there were some bumps along the road, but it never felt like something insurmountable. Many times I found myself smiling at their obliviousness, their uncertainty. It felt human, and all the more rewarding when the feelings couldn't be denied any longer.
As it often happens, life had something to say and in the middle of book 5 I fell behind on the updates eventually. Always planning to return, but never finding time. It's difficult to describe how I felt yesterday, upon discovering your work deleted in my bookmarks, seeing your accounts gone everywhere. I hope you're doing well. You gave us a gift, and no matter what happens afterwards, whether you return or this is the end, I'll be forever grateful. You brightened my day, you made me smile, you made me laugh. I'll never forget it.
"All I ever knew of love I learned by watching."
I learned a lot by reading your work. Thank you. ❤️
