How do you think Henry feels about things like Pet Sematary or Cujo? Do you think he enjoys the horror factor, or maybe if he meets Stephen King at some event, he'd be like "But why tho?" How do you think August feels about things like that?
Looking at what he’s accomplished so far, I think it’s fair to assume that Henry is a man who keeps an excellent mental hygiene. Meaning, I think he is very choosy about the things he gives radio space in his mind to. Positive, creative, joyful things get full access, whereas cheap thrills and filler stuff gets kept at bay. Henry is not the kind of guy who watches horror movies for the sensation of experiencing an adrenaline spike in a controlled, safe environment.Now, Stephen King and other masters of the genre are exceptions. But King in particular has such elegant storytelling and his stories are ultimately about humans being the scariest, evilest thing even in a universe filled with monsters and inexplicable phenomena. Henry might watch Stephen King movie adaptations because it’s basically “compulsory reading” for his work (plus very entertaining and engaging).
If he met Stephen King at an event he would go full nerd/fanboy and I think the even old and salty mr. King would develop a soft spot for Henry. August doesn’t have time to keep up with movies and books as much as he’d like. He has places to be, people to kill and he’s basically the song “Enter Sandman” by Metallica in human form. He’s the kind of person who gives rise to horror tales in the first place. If and when he gets the chance to do a movie night with his boo, he is either catching up with pop culture landmark movies and whatever’s hot in the action genre.
