Please remember that a "twink" is like literally just a body type/ a look. Like the original word was coined after Twinkies (like the food) and used originally to just describe a white blonde gay guy who's super skinny, hairless, and a bottom.

And yeah its evolved over the years, primarily cutting out the blond and white part (and also starting to include people other than just cis guys. cause it was originally just cis guys), but outside of jokes it does still mean a skinny gay/bi masc person who's hairless and probably a bottom. And it is a little weird to look at every single queer masc character and go "I think you're a <this word that means skinny and a bottom.>" And I know people will be like "Oh Ocie! This is more sexual than it actually means. Twinks don't HAVE to be bottoms"

So funny story! When I was added to this season of Bound, the google doc with some of the origins actually had one specifically suggested to me by Heyhay13. Which was the 'Child of Cthulhu' origin since it does fun water stuff. And y'all know I love fun water stuff. But just being a fish/mermaid/nymph does get old. Even if it is my branding. So I kinda latched onto it. I wanted it to be sci-fiy from the beginning. With there being a more "logical" explanation for what they are. In Lovecraft mythos, technically, Cthulhu is a "Great Old One." Which is kinda like a race??? Idk. Don't read lovecraft. But theres a type of creature called Cthulhi or 'Starspawn of Cthulhu" that look just like him and arrive among side him basically. And I just stole the name for the whole bit. Lovecraft shit is weird. I've butchered it immensely and made my own Frankenstein out of the pieces. For context, Mi-Go was gonna be based off of Cthulhus daughter "Cthylla" but uh....yeah in the mythos she's supposed to actually give birth to him if he dies and other weird shit so I decided against it. That's the kind of shit I had to work with lmao
