You can take a dog collar and make it a bracelet if you don't feel comfortable enough wearing a collar out in public. And if anyone says anything, you can mention that it was part of a fundraiser to help an animal shelter or another animal cause

My first year college was a bit crazy, my mental health got to a scary point (it is not being prioritized and actively being taken care of) and things were a bit everywhere but I'm still working on the project. I decided to switch some technology aspects of it that way better serve the application.

A bit of an update for you guys.

I have been working this summer in a division center, prepping for college (fighting with transfer credits from high school [dual enrollment]), taking my driver’s test 2 times (going to take it for the 3rd tomorrow, at the time of writing this).

Things have been a bit hectic getting things around, I have not forgotten about the app. Just trying to finish setting things up for college and my adult life.

Okay, a lot has happened from when I had my last update with the app. I am now working a part time job a few days a week. This cuts down on my free time, but I am still learning none the less.

I have also been working on getting the testing set up so anyone that wants to test can sign up and be put on the list through a link. Just having some issues getting Google Play to read my app as an authentic and authorized app made by me.

With that, I have not forgotten about the app. Things are changing to help me prep for college in the fall. I will post anything for updates and the link to test soon (once I get the issue fixed).

Below are some of the design layouts. If anyone has any suggestions or constructive criticism I am welcome to hearing them.

User Interface Design is not my forte and haven't done much of it.

Start Page - What you will see when you start the application

Menu - The menu that appears when the user clicks the three lines on the upper left-hand side of the application

Settings Page - The settings will be in group and then give the user options to adjust

Entry Add Page - Where entries will be put into before being saved. While this looks small, it would be scrollable so more space would be present.

Kin Manager - Where you can add, update and Delete your kins

Kin Add / Edit Screen - Where you can update your kin details (Name, details, species, etc.)

Due to the positive reception, I will be working on attempting to make the app. Things will be going slow, but I will be posting updates on the progress of the app. I will be using a tag to make it easier for others to track the progress: #goldenMoonPup_Therian_Journal_App

One of the reblogs asked, “would you be able to keep all the entries even if you take out a kintype?”. I can do this, and I also thought about letting people export all of their entries.

 I have made some sketches of what the app could potentially look like. I will upload the sketches in a higher definition than my handwriting XD.

Currently I am learning how to take user input, so this would be able to take the kintypes, tags, date & times, and descriptions.

What would everyone think of a Species Disphoria / Kin Journal app?

Well, you could put each of your kins in the app and then tag each entry with a kin. The date and time would be tagged, and what types of shifts occured (m-shift, phantom limbs, etc.) and of course a place to journal.

I would add the ability to filter entries by kin type, shifts experienced and date and time. As well as to add and remove kins (helpful for people questioning their kins)

I am actually able to stick with this online course I found for app development and I would still be learning and be kinda slow at development due to learning and other life things 😝.

Would anyone be willing to become a tester when it gets to a point that it could be tested?

To be clear, I have not started this at all and is just a proof of concept currently.

The app would be free as I feel there is not enough apps that try and give tools to help with otherkin and/or therians and species disphoria in general.

I was researching species dysphoria and found that there was a movie released in 2021 about it.

It is called Wolf and was written and directed by Nathalie Biancheri. She became fascinated with the topic and made a movie about it.
