He thought he had his alters in control but given how he would constantly blackout the past year, his alter [Steven Grant] was married, and well, that caused problems for Marc. One) he couldn’t pay his debt to Khonshu properly without the lingering voice of Steven judging each and every step he takes. And Two) you, the wife of the problem.

Steven’s utterly stubborn yet innocent wife that dragged into the midst of everything that he vowed to steer anyone anyway from. Marc was more shocked that Steven had a wife throughout the blackout periods. But Marc, to say the least, over the past few weeks grew fond of you. He saw how the way you took care of Steven when he realize that another person was living inside of him.

Steven broke down, fell to his knees, and begged you to run away from him. Sobbing about how he was a monster and that he would get you hurt in the process of what Marc was doing. Instead of running as Steven wanted you to do, you grasped his face in your hands. The soft paddings of your thumb trace alongside his prominent jawline, feeling the stumble of his saved beard prick your flesh. Those soft, kind eyes and the small smile twitching at the corner of your lips.

Marc had witnessed it through the reflections of Steven. You were too good for him. But Steven deserved you where Marc felt like he didn’t. You were way too good for Marc but that didn’t mean you weren’t a pain in his ass when you forcibly came with Marc on his mission on finding information on Harrow.

Marc can see why Steven chose you. The innocence of you washed over him, the moral compass that he would subtly glance over when he was about to kill someone. That fucking innocence in your eyes when you tilted your head and batted your eyelashes when you were curious. You kept Steven grounded and that effect was slowly washing over Marc.

But with all the good things that Marc touches, they’ve become corrupted. He didn’t want to see you become corrupted by witnessing what he has to do in order to carry out Khonshu’s will. But the idea of him corrupting you is a different story. Marc witnessed through the reflections of Steven, the fucking Steven would give you.

Your knees would drag across the ground, your plump lips curled into a pout as your arms were promptly in front of you begging to be treated like a whore but Steven couldn’t. He couldn’t give you what you wanted because he was a gentle, passionate lover that made Marc roll his eyes. He was sick of seeing your desperate pleas to be ruined and get fucked like a whore. Steven, of course, would give you satisfaction but not the way you desire.

Marc could tell you wanted to be corrupted but Steven saw nothing but the innocent wife in front of him and treated you as one. Marc did the same but he was slowly beginning to realize that may be all the case when you demanded to come on this mission with him in the hotel room.
