Now that episode 9 officially released I feel ok posting fanart and my thoughts. I saw it in theatres and it was a magical experience. For me it was very emotional being so connected to this story and characters for the last 3 years… I at first hated Jax, then started to feel for them… I suspected their backstory was probably something having to do with their gender identity, I saw signs like their room and actions/reactions. It hit hard and I’m so happy that it’s told in subtle ways. Every interpretation is valid, but this one means a lot to me! I also think that the portrayal of a character who is toxic and keeps people away in the way it was done… it broke my heart. It made me think of people I know and cared for. Combined with the idea that abstraction is in some way giving up. That it is suicide is so much… and the line where Jax said they “don’t wanna go” broke me down.

Through it all this series and story is so special to me. It’s something I hope more people who haven’t considered it will watch! It’s so worth it, and it gives a perspective on mental health and anxiety that needs to be seen and explored more in media. There’s more I could ramble on about. But the amazing digital circus has been such a great inspiration for me as an artist and creative. It’s a sad, funny and intense story that had me on the edge of my seat and my heart pounding. But despite the bitter moments, it was also sweet and left me hopeful. Digital Circus only reminded me how important it is to let those I love and care about know how much I do - and to spend all the time I can with those people 💕
