"...A golden calf! With horns!"
Foreshadowing...
They did bother having Joseph's remains being returned to Canaan...You know, Joseph, the reason the Israelites were in Egypt in the first place?
Sokar, falcon headed god of the underworld with agricultural associations, appropriately enough
He was also a life god and a resurrection god
Both Ramesses II and Seti I were very devoted to him, having murals for him in their chambers... allegedly (I can't find a reliable source)... so it's appropriate having Ramesses pray to him to bring his son's life back
Nefertari comes to announce their firstborn's death. She's finished with her denial and bargaining eras, now it's time for her anger and depression eras!
Will she reach acceptance? No, she won't

Ramesses gives Moses and his people permission to go and explicitly lets them plunder Egypt if they want (they will)
Is the thingy behind Ramesses meant to be a symbol of Amun-Ra? As in his headgear?
I don't think it would be inappropriate
Nefertari is in complete denial that Moses would do anything to hurt her. She's wrong
This is also inaccurate as Queen Neferatri died a year before Ramesses II's firstborn son
He also died when he was past the age of 25
But why is Ramesses not affected? Probably because he isn't a firstborn... he wasn't... he had an older sister named Tia
Whose idea was it to have Moses explain things as they're happening... or before they have significance?
The inclusion of Moses adoptive mother in their gathering is... sweet
But Moses just has to say "pass over" doesn't he?
Again, how much of the visual identity of Prince of Egypt comes from The Ten Commandments?

And finally Nefertari mentions the Sherden by name! She refers to them as Sardinian, which yes.
But both panic when they realize what the last plague upon Egypt is.
"I saved your son" "I can't save yours"
Zipporah and Gershom are sent back to Midian with a caravan by Nefertari
I love how trading caravans are sporadically mentioned and actually play a role in the plot
"Is this Moses' son?" "Yes, this is our son"
What a great way to summarize their conflict!
At least Nefertari cared enough for Moses to warn him... or get rid of her competition... or something
Nothing of the sort happened in the source material since Zipporah never made it to Egypt because of a circumcision related incident
"And there shall be so great a cry throughout the land..."
"Come to me no more, Moses, for on the day you see my face again, you will surely die"
And then he orders the death of the firstborns of the slaves, but that's not how that'll go
Everyone wants this over and Ramesses looks like he's about to comply while throwing his council under the bus but Nefertari wants to keep Moses close... or something... so she plays into Ramesses' pride
She mentions that Ramesses will look weak if he complies, mentioning the royalty of Canaan, Babylon, and Troy... Why no Hattusa? Or Mycenae? Or Assur? Or Alashiya?

Moses predicts the hail, the darkness and the last one. But the plague of locusts is strangely omitted. I don't have clear why
Technically a more accurate depiction of how the hail was than PoE
Is Ramesses right and religion and gods are just a way to control people? God is dead and all those incorrectly used phrases? Who am I to say? I'm just a person
Hello weird anachronic atheism again, how much I hate you
Ramesses gives some plausible explanation for plagues 1-6: Red mud made it into the Nile, making it seem like blood (1) that poisoned the water, killing the fish and forcing the frogs to flee (2), attracting gnats (3) and flies (4), spreading disease on man and beast (5) leaving their marks in boils (6)... so the next has to be truly unnatural!
