Kix's practicality won out over any panicking over how they ended up in the past, and Obi-Wan and Cody quickly found themselves in the urgent care center, being attended to by an emergency room doctor who seemed more interested in lecturing them about how lucky they were to be alive after getting caught up in an avalanche than treating said injuries.
Thankfully they didn't have to listen to him for too long before both of them were being wheeled back for surgery. It was a blur of memories after that until Obi-Wan woke up in the civilian recovery ward with Kix in a plastic chair next to his bed. Cody occupied the bed next to him, his left leg propped up on pillows in a large brace.
"Hello Obi-Wan," Kix greeted. "How are you feeling?"
Obi-Wan took a moment to assess himself before replying. "Floaty."
Kix laughed, "they have you both on the good stuff, no wartime rationing. And they listened to me on how to properly calibrate for your metabolisms."
"We're human here," Cody added, laying back against his pillows. "Plenty of pity for blowing out my knee on vacation, but no scorn."
"Hmm," Obi-Wan replied thoughtfully and decided he should probably figure out what they had done to him. The first thing he noticed was that both of his arms were unable to move, and a glance down revealed the reason for that to be two casts that were immobilizing his arms from his armpit to fingers, his left thumb and right pointer and index fingers encased as well.
His right leg poked out from the blankets, an IV and blood pressure monitor hooked up to his leg. The peeled back blankets also revealed the absorbant pad he was laying on, and a little wiggling the sodden diaper around his waist.
By the time his brain had begun to clear from the effects of the anesthesia, Kix had disappeared and a nurse appeared. She began with routine examinations, checking his vitals and fingers for circulation. Once she was done with that, she peeled back the sheet that gave Obi-Wan the smallest illusion of dignity, leaving him in only a visibly soaked diaper and to long arm casts.
"Let's get you in a dry diaper," the nurse said before providing one of the most efficient diaper changes Obi-Wan had had the pleasure of enduring in the hospital, and he unfortunately remembered the first week after his escape from Rattatak, when his muscles were too weak to do anything, his digestion a mess, and both shoulders fresh out of surgery.
She disappeared, being replaced by Kix again, a smile on his face. "Good news," Kix announced. "A little paperwork and you two are being released from hospital. Turns out the inn has an open suite now and upon hearing of your unfortunately accident and the loss of our gear in an avalanche, they are putting us up for free until you are recovered enough to travel."
"That is excellent news," Obi-Wan agreed. "Do you happen to uh, have any clothes?"
Kix pulled two sets of clothes from a back pack. "Sweatpants and tshirt for you, shorts and sweatshirt for Cody. Let's get you dressed."
Getting dressed was just enough of a challenge to leave Obi-Wan sweating and tired by the time he was in a tshirt and sweatpants, not even bothering with socks with his shoes or underwear over his diaper. He leaned against the edge of his bed as Kix helped Cody with his shorts, forgoing the left shoe as Cody maneuvered himself into a standing position, leaning on his crutches with his left leg awkwardly held in front of him.
Obi-Wan was also suprised to see that the thin shorts did nothing to hide the diaper taped around Cody's waist, the plastic waistband even poking out in the back as Cody swung forward on his crutches. Obi-Wan stood to follow them out of the room to the hall where Kix was signing paperwork. Then down the hall to the elevators, where disaster struck.
As soon as they stopped walking, Obi-Wan felt his stomach grumbling unhappily, churning violently. His bladder twinged, and knowing he was in a diaper, Obi-Wan gave it a little push, hoping to relieve the pressure in his gut. It did, but not in the way he was hoping. A tiny push was all it took for his sphincter to overreact and suddenly Obi-Wan was doing more than wetting his diaper.
The sound of crinkling plastic was unmistakeable, and Obi-Wan gave an involuntary grunt as he emptied his bowels for the first time since landing on the planet. Pain killers and coming off rations could always mess with his system, but this was something else. Obi-Wan had no warning, no idea what was coming until it happened.
It seemed like forever to Obi-Wan before he was done pushing, the warm, squishy mess spreading across his butt cheeks and up his crack to push precariously against the top leak guard. The front was no better as the hiss of his bladder releasing was accompanied by the feeling of warm urine pooling in the front of his diaper that was no longer absorbing along most of it's surface.
Yet clearly it wasn't long as the he was done by the time the elevator dinged open, and in the commotion of the busy lobby Kix and Cody hadn't even turned around. They stepped into the elevator and Obi-Wan followed, his gait now wide and awkward with his center of balance so altered by the casted arms strapped to his chest and the heavy diaper swinging between his legs.
"I had an accident," he said, as the elevator doors closed and Kix turned to him. And accident was perhaps a bit of an understatement Obi-Wan thought as he left out a little gas that went bubbling uncomfortably up through his mess before popping against the leak guard at his waist.
"I see," Kix replied. "We can get you cleaned up back at the inn," he added, seemingly unsure of what to do.
