Despite that persistence, he's quite good with consent. The repeated check ins with Shane! How it all stays hot while they fuck. It's so so good. Shane has him wrapped around his fucking finger and doesn't seem to realize it. Like you're telling me Ilya would move to fucking Ottawa for Shane? To play for some no name shitty team? Damn, where the fuck do I get a man like that.

Watched heated rivalry, god it's so good. Hits me in a very specific way as a neurodivergent, queer, Russian Canadian. Currently reading the book, over halfway through and just... Wow it sucks. For once the show adaptation is better than the source material. The writing sucks. It's like 7th grade reading level shit except it has a lot of sex. Like more sex than actual plot, and also very boring sex. Fucking hell. I've genuinely read much much better fanfiction. And I mean that as an insult. Fanfic writers do it for fun and free and with next to no resources. This book was traditionally published and it is worse in quality than fanfiction. Couldn't even get a sensitivity reader it seems like, since like the one black character is almost a caricature. Big black dark skinned hatian man who's very loud. Thats literally it. Apparently Reid confirmed Shane is autistic and that's very much true for the show but I do not see it in the book at all. Ilya is the least Russian to ever Russian. And of course there's a size difference and shane the wasian character is the smaller one. Truly just terrible wtf. Teirney rescued this shit with the show and Reid is getting way too much praise for such mediocre writing. The show is good not because of the source material but because teirney is a fantastic director, connor and Hudson are great actors and have amazing chemistry together. And the rest of the crew too for filming it and editing and music.
