WIP renders of Quarry
This is my current Big Project. I still need to finish with the terrain and undergrowth, some more bones and textures for the hunter (and a gun), fix up the dog's fur, do a couple of neat lighting tricks, all that good stuff.
The deer and the (placeholder?) bg are free stocks, the rest is by my hand.

Oh! That's wonderful, I'm so glad to hear they liked it! I'd be happy to share the file, I'm gonna have to check though that it's presentable from all angles and do some touchups to make sure it can be printed with as few issues as possible.

This was fun to make and I'm still happy with it, although now months later I see many aspects that I could improve.

I've been struggling to build a killer portfolio for a little over a week now, and while I haven't been able to finish anything presentable, I've learned a lot about handpainting textures, retopology and improving my workflow. I've still got ways to go but nothing so far has been a waste of time. Well, except maybe spending like 12h fucking around with the crown's textures while forgetting that the resolution of the entire tex sheet is indeed 2k with exceedingly generous margins and I hadn't thought of making the most detail-heavy islands bigger :^)
I haven't completed much recently, but here's a bunch of WIPs and test renders.

I accidentally found a tutorial for a flaming sword and checked to see how it'd look on the Blazeback, so I whipped up a quick lowpoly model and it honestly looks way better than the one I laboured over for a couple of days lmao

I've had this sit in my folders for a week and a half bc I was not happy with the vines and leaves, but I realized that I'd never get this done if I kept fucking around with them.
Check out this pumpkin tutorial! I learned a lot about displacement and layered details from it.

Uuugghjgh this entire model was a nightmare and a half but at least I got a half-decent base for that wing type for future use.

Geode Dragon from Dragon Cave.
This time I practiced adding multiple materials on a single object. I'm still not fully satisfied with the crystal parts of the dragon, but I suppose they would pop out more with some lighting adjustments.
Magma Dragon from Dragon Cave
Another subject to experiment textures on. I accidentally laboured over this model for 12h straight without noticing, can't recommend. It's not perfect, but it's pretty solid and I'm happy with it for now!
