Recently, I have been revisiting some of the older recommendations in my libraries to see how they hold up against my current favourites—a refresh of the long-form libraries, of sorts, and, selfishly, an exercise in my own enjoyment. I began with some of the earliest works I read when I first started exploring RPF under the Lando Norris/Oscar Piastri relationship tag. As many people do when entering a new fandom, I sorted by kudos. Still holding the same position today, Casual by loquarocoeur remains the most-kudosed Explicit-rated work in the tag, with 10,570 kudos and 337,530 hits at the time of writing. On both my first and second readings, I was struck by its exquisite prose, and the same was true of several other highly popular works I encountered early on: they had earned their praise. As someone who possesses neither the creativity nor the practical writing skill required to produce work of a similar calibre, I began to wonder what inspires these writers in their own creative endeavours—and what they might include if they were to curate recommendation libraries of their own. Shortly afterwards, I remembered that I possess some degree of free will and could simply ask them. Their answers became this post.

When reaching out to some of our favourite Landoscar authors, I asked them to submit a few works that they themselves appreciate and enjoy. Perhaps these works may have even provided some inspiration for their own writing. I was privileged enough to hear from those I reached out to, and received thoughtful responses about their chosen recommendations. Now, I get to share these with you all.
