🇮🇳 Exciting News for #Indian_Aviation! ✈️

Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, has inaugurated the UDAN Yatri Cafe at Chennai Airport, marking a significant milestone in making air travel more accessible and affordable for all citizens.

Located in the pre-check area of the TI domestic terminal, this cafe offers an array of affordable refreshments, including:

- *Beverages*: Tea and coffee for just ₹20, and water bottles for ₹10

- *Snacks*: Samosas for ₹20

This initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of inclusive air travel, aiming to make flying more affordable and accessible to all. The cafe is designed to provide basic refreshments hygienically and cost-effectively while maintaining good quality.

First launched at Kolkata Airport in December 2024, the UDAN Yatri Cafe initiative plans to expand to Delhi Airport shortly and then nationwide.

Speaking on the airline sector, Naidu emphasized the government's support for new airline operators, despite the challenges posed by the volatile nature of the business and massive investment requirements.

Air Kerala: Taking Flight in June 2025

India's newest airline, Air Kerala, is set to launch in June 2025, focusing on domestic routes within a 1.5-hour flight radius from Kannur. This new airline aims to make travel more convenient and accessible.

Key Highlights:

* The first flight will depart from Kannur International Airport.

* Indian pilots will be prioritised hiring.

* All necessary approvals have been secured from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Under the leadership of CEO Harish Kutty, Air Kerala is poised to create new opportunities within the Indian aviation industry.
