"Do you have your reusable bags?"
Once his name was mentioned, Iruma looked up from trying to slip his mittens on. Looking around he hummed curiously.
Marbas, the one next to him smiled down at him while placing a hand on his head. "Don't worry Kalego, I'll have Iruma and all the snacks for movie night home before you know it!"
Kalego sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. "Alright, alright." He said softly. "Just be careful. He tends to get lost easily."
"I do not!" Iruma pouted.
"You got lost walking to the main gate!" The purple haired teacher huffed.
Marbas chuckled when Iruma let out a wounded sound. "Don't worry, don't worry! I won't let him get lost!"
With a nod, the older of the two teachers hands over some Vil to the man who looks at it curiously.
"He...got a passing grade on his last Astrology test so Shichiro and I agreed that he should be rewarded." Kalego grumbled, looking away. "So he can have one toy or one special treat."
Ruffling Iruma's head proudly, Marbas grinned and agreed.
With that the student-teacher duo waved goodbye and went off to the grocery store!
Iruma was such a good kid, Marbas knew that this would be easy! A quick trip and right back home!
------------------------------------------------------------
Whining, Marbas rushed down aisle after aisle while calling for his charge...s. His charges.
On the way out the gate the duo had found Sabro Sabnock checking a small list just a bit down the path to Magical Street.
Seeing how Iruma immediately lighted up at the sight of one of his classmates, Marbas didn't have the heart to say that he couldn't join them.
So Sabro joined them on their shopping trip, putting Iruma on his shoulders when it was obvious it was hard for the smaller boy to keep up with them.
Everything was alright in the beginning!
They wandered over to the Pharmacy section to get Sabro a new toothbrush and Iruma some bandaids (he has weirdly become addicted to sticking them everywhere like stickers), then they wandered over to the drinks.
That was where he made the mistake of taking his eyes off the duo.
He had been looking at all the different types of sugary drinks and comparing them to the list that the group chat made earlier when he had turned to ask Iruma which one he wanted...only to be met with neither fledgling.
He panicked and started looking everywhere for them but he couldn't find hide nor hair of either.
So far he's been running around for about five minutes but still couldn't find them! The store wasn't even that big!
And Sabro was huge! He'd definitely be able to see him over the short shelves!
So where the hell were they?!
Tugging on his hair he was about to give up and call in backup when he heard Sabro's boisterous laughter.
Perking up he quickly followed it to the book and magazine section to find both of his charges happily reading a joke book, Sabro seated on the floor and Iruma seated on his lap.
"There you are!" He cried, rushing over.
Both boys looked up curiously only to be hugged around their necks with a grunt. "Oh thank Satan..." Marbas whispered. "Are you two okay?! Where were you?"
Both boys shared a look before looking at their teacher curiously. "What does thou mean? Thoust allowed us to come down here!" Sabro frowned, placing the book in Iruma's lap.
He did tell them they could.
He hadn't remembered at first but now that the panic was slowly ebbing away he could remember.
"Professor Marbas? Can we go look at the books?" Iruma had asked.
Marbas, who was still looking at the drinks just hummed. "Y-Yeah...just stay there and wait for me okay?"
Hanging his head he groaned. "I forgot..."
Both boys laughed at the teacher's distress.
Sighing, Marbas gave a soft smile and ruffled both boys' hair. "Okay, okay...come on you two. Let's hurry up and gather our things okay?" He said gently.
For the rest of the trip, both boys stayed practically glued to their teacher while gathering up all the snacks both parties needed.
In no time they were paying for their things and leaving the little store, Iruma happily playing with a plush rabbit he had found abandoned on a shelf.
Sabro graciously carried the heavier things while Iruma happily took the bags full of candy.
Marbas smiled at the sight of Iruma happily interacting with another fledgling. It honestly warmed his heart.
The poor kid was almost always looking out a window sadly, obviously missing his family. And when he wasn't he was pretending to be okay with the situation even though all the teachers knew he wasn't.
So, seeing him so happy again honestly made March happy as well.
"Hey Sabro-kun?" He called out.
"Hm?" The big blonde hums curiously.
"How would you like to join us teachers and Iruma for a movie night?" He asks with a smile. "There's already a nest set up in the main rec room for Iruma that you two can share!"
Sabro grinned and nodded once. "That sounds most entertaining! Thank you! I'd be happy to join!"
Chuckling, Marbas watched Iruma and Sabro happily talk about the movie night.
Oh he hoped Kalego wouldn't be too angry with him...but since it was making Iruma so happy, he doubted he'd get into too much trouble.
