My Sanctuary

I am desperately combing through my past passion for Kingdom Hearts so that I can try to feasibly string together all these skeletal WIP that is literally a whole story if I just got off my ass and added meat to its bones.

This original character that Sora should have had in his corner in the first place to give him the gentle reality of the world. The wholesome fiction in the midst of tragedy and how Donald and Goofy are the closest people that this kid had for near dysfunctional adoptive parents. Because we only hear two lines of dialogue from Sora's mother before she disappears from the storyline completely. The aftermath of parents who have lost their children and children who have lost their parents, that is not brought up.

So many scenes already written out with actual dialogue of building a universe that's magic and theory was neglected for retcons. A realistic dawning that's removed from for rated T content of a boy whos whose whole view of Worldly Law was literally destroyed with his World when he finds out magic actually exists and yes, you can cast a fireball at the flick of your wrists.

Because I would believe so much more that Sora's World didn't have the capacity for magic before it was connected to the 'darkness'/other Worlds. Because I can't find a mention of it preexisting in Sora's World.

Just how vast the Oceans Between Worlds is and the horror of how channels have been literally and savagely carved out of the remains stars left behind like bloody breadcrumbs from Heartless whose hivemind is to keep consuming. How spacetravel on the Gummie Ship could have so much darker meaning as the only way it was realistically able to travel from World to World that's being threatened is by following the carnage.

Of confirmed implications of stars not only blinking out as they are swallowed but also that meteor storms act as a siren that some outside force has breached a Worlds borders. And for those in the know, it's not something to marvel at in wonder but a sign to board up your windows and brace for impact.

Of how Worlds are not just falling into darkness because of these outside 'alien' forces such as the Heartless, Unverse, and Nobody's causing trauma to its Heart but also to the Hearts of its denizens. And I wonder of the idea that if such a World didn't abide with Laws of magic and fantasy, if it would suddenly allow it as an attempted 'anti-virus' effect. To fight fire with fire, only making its fever worse in the process.

Sora is a fourteen year old kid who has to look at a threat to mere exhistance, in the face, multiple times and is told to literally force on a smile to fuel a ship towards venturing further into the dark to save his friends.

Of a boy whose friends is his power because if he doesn't have that support group, then he could very well relapse into a bad place.

Just...Sora himself is Steven Universe's younger cousin, who, with each and every world he saves, just literally unlocks another on the to-do list. A boy pulled from playing on the beach with a sword thrusted into his hand, told he is now a soldier of the light and sent on his way to fight a war he didn't sign up for.

This kid is going to have so much PTSD by the time it is finally all over with, and I want so much for that to be brought up more. He shows a little bit of it in relief when he finds Riku in 2, but I think this should have gone off the rails a bit more.

I think at least once during his whole story, we should have had a crumb of a scene in which he just finally says outloud enough to quiet everything else shouting at him to do something.
