carol danvers’ superhero suit covers as much skin as, and is as thick and functional as steve rogers’ suit. we finally have a female superhero’s suit which is every damn bit as practical as the mens’ suits and THAT MATTERS A LOT TO ME. I am GRATEFUL we finally have a suit built for its purpose, not built for the male gaze.

People critising a movie for having female lead(s) is not for the first time. It’s happened before. It happened when Ghostbusters (2016) came out, it happened when The Last Jedi came out, it happened when Oceans 8 came out and it happened again when Captain Marvel came out. Dudebros just want to see a regular white man walking out on the screen, beating some guys and making out with the said girl. They can’t tolerate watching a strong women beating the shit outta everyone in lead roles. And when a movie addresses sexism and misogny, they accuse the movie of supporting “man hating”. Lemme tell you in the words of a famous text post nobody can make girls hate men more than men.
