about.
born and raised in denver, that’s where glenda spent her upbringing.
the closure of her father’s workplace saw the family move. family led them to a town near shrike heights, a job opportunity led them to moving to shrike heights officially soon after.
her family has always strived for success, her mother a doctor, her father a lawyer. they worked hard and got ‘respectable’ jobs so that they could live a comfortable lifestyle.
glenda’s four sisters grew up acting equally as respectable, how they presented being important to the family, but glenda always felt like a bit of a black sheep in the family.
she typically tried to behave as well as possible, wanting to please her family who tried to build a good reputation and life for themselves, but she always felt a little rougher around her edges.
glenda got in trouble more than any of her siblings, and was more combative than any of the others, but still, she was loved by her family and she loved them.
her sisters grew up to work in similar fields as their parents, going into accounting, nursing, etc., but glenda couldn’t ever commit herself to something that required that much dedication and smarts.
unlike her sisters, she skipped college at first, working retail jobs after graduation, but she still had the desire to please her family and to fit in so she found what she thought was the easiest yet still ‘respectable’ job she could.
she became a teacher at shrike high in her mid-twenties, and she actually really loved the job. she worked as an english teacher, and here she figured out how much she loved providing for others and caring for them.
she was dedicated to her students, maybe more than she was dedicated to actually teaching them their english or literature work, and even while still being a bit of a black sheep, she was able to remain on good terms with them all by making them proud.
when the attacks started in shrike heights, glenda grew terrified of what might happen - to her students especially. always prone to mental health issues, glenda worried the stress would cause irreparable damage, and she found herself having to leave her job as a teacher - at least for now.
she left teaching hastily, with no backup plan for how she could support herself, and while she’s not too fond of the idea of working in the mall, where most attacks take place, she had to make rent somehow.
