It’s totally understandable why ancient people worshipped the sun moon and stars. Light is very beautiful, but I also think there’s something equally wonderful about humans and celestial objects both being created by the same god. Kind of like our little siblings. Now I’m just repeating that cool poem.

Author's note: we grew up Christian and we love whimsical music so hearing all these references from our childhood hit pretty well. We wanted to analyze it and share all the references because The Oh Hellos are honestly some of the best lyricists we’ve seen.
This analysis does contain references to Genius Lyrics where we didn’t know what the lyrics were referring to. We didn’t copy them, but we added additional information.
The Valley
Background/song summary: The Valley is the first track in The Oh Hellos Through the Deep, Dark Valley. Though the album is coined as a concept album, the concept itself is very loose. The album was made in respect to love, journeys, and righting past wrongs.
This song is about the struggle and confusion of being born into wickedness or sin, as all humans are following the fall of humanity (the original sin). The speaker seeks a leader to the light.

Love how guts blurs the lines. Is he good? Is he evil? How he breaks the mold of a traditional manga protagonist. Guts can be cruel when by his lonesome because without others’ light, the shadow can feel all-consuming. we can see that clearly in lost children and black swordsman, but the more company he has, the more he seems to mellow out.
What I’m tryna say is that he’s such a good guy. Just beat down so. So. Much. He cares, he just needs to be able to open his heart.
It’s such a shame that lots of people drop berserk after the golden age arc because they don’t get to these two. They’re so insane to me. Cuckoo bananas.

two ideas can coexist yk? casca can be a kick ass character that holds a very important role in the story and in guts and griffith's relationship, AND griffguts can still be a ship people prefer...

About that one Sunday theory…
People have talked about many times that the cat is Elio, and many things have supported that, mainly it’s presence in the Stellaron Hunters’ art.
But what if the birds in the top left corner are actually foreshadowing about Sunday joining them.
Do you guys think halovians' halos have any sensation. They look metallic so I'd always assumed not (I guess I see them as being kinda like bones??? Sensation and strength wise???) But. What if they could feel them.
Also, since in Robin's trailer she removes the halo, my hc is that even if they can't feel the halos themselves, they can feel if they get move away from their head - it gives them migranes if it's too far or is removed for too long.
I was actually thinking about this because I was wondering what would happen if they got wet. Those things must be so annoying to dry, especially Sunday's, that thing has so many points.
